I have my book layed out but im un satified with it.
I need some input.
Is it best to have it read like a novel
or best to have it read in chopped up sections of information :ahhhh:

I am afraid you'll have to be more specific. Please provide the overview of your book, age it is intended for, is it fiction or nonfiction?

At the point the best advice I can offer is to look at books in your genre and compare to see how they layout and/or compile chapters.

My book is a self-help book for depression sufferers. It is intended for people of all ages.
I didn't know if I should have layed out all the information like a novel or section each topic off with a title and underlining :ack:

Keep learning about nonfiction self help books. Grab sources from your local library.

As an example this is my table of contents for Confessions of a Teenage Witch

Ussually nonfiction books, like you are trying to write are best put together under chapters. This is most easy for readers
For example one chapter might be on how to identify depression, another the different types of depression, and then more on how to support family members w/ depression.

You may run into a small problem because depression is seen as an illness and thus becomes the domain of doctors. Maybe you could have a doctor consult on your book to overcome this.

Some of the best and most interesting psychology type books I've read were layed out like a novel would be, in some ways they are easier to read. However it can be frusterating if the reader isn't the novel reading type. It seems to me that the standard way most self help books are layed out are like workbooks though. People who flip though books skimming the titles and beginings of chapters would most likely enjoy the method of having each topic sectioned off. They would be more likely to read a chapter here and there. Whereas if you layed it out like a novel, people would be more likely to read, in fact, they would have to read the whole thing in sequence and not skip around.
