I was wondering what other people are doing (if anything) for the up and coming equinox.
My family and I are having a (pot luck) harvest feast the sunday after Mabon.
Hopefully outside....Goddess willing. We are entering my most favorite season and I get all goofy and giddy just thinking about it. I'm making favors and will (again, hopefully) be decorating the the backyard. So, really, I'm just being nosy, but I'd love to hear what others do to mark the change of seasons where you are?

Well Mabon is my favorite holiday, Samhain also.
I think I will spend time reflecting and probably hanging outside with my cat Abyss. Writing some poetry. Things like that.
I had my altar a shrine to Autumn time in august! I can't wait for autumn to come.
As you can see in my sig...I'm counting down :)

Well, two strands on that:

Grove events: feast/food&clothing drive/wheatweaving. Hopefully a temple cleaning.

Personal: clean out my junk.

It will be Ostara here. I'll be doing a bit of meditation, house cleaning in preperation to move (magically and physically), cooking up a nice meal and making plans for Beltaine - housewarming, house blessing, new house - new beginings! I'm looking forward to Beltaine.

I'm going to make an attempt to do something this time. As corn is associated with Mabon, I think I'm going to figure out how to cook corn on the cob (can't be too hard... I believe you just stick it in boiling water), get some fresh corn still in the husk, and cook it for my mom and brother. My mother will be shocked. XD

I plan on doing a little more work with our Second Harvest Food Drive locally and having a special meal with friends. This signals the beginning of my favorite season.

It depends on my finances, how extensive I can get. The kids and I have some Mabon-related crafts planned and we're going to bake some harvest bread. We'll be doing some type of ritual outside in the gazebo as well.

My altar is already decorated and I even got my first pumpkin from the garden to put on it. Ill just do some a simple and small ritual and spend alot of the day outside.

I odn't have anything official I know of. I may go to the nature center and walk around and see the leaves start to change colors. Maybe I"ll sit somehwere and meditate and relax and take pictures too without flash. I may take some pictures on days of wheels of the year there like Beltane, Maybom, Samhain, Yule etc. Or just pictures in general on those days and do like an album/scrapbook of the wheel of the year this way.

I may just pray to God and thank him for the beautiful of the fall and the life cycle shown in our trees. I got a neat garland of real leaves at the Ren Fest too that is neat for this season.

Well, my fiancee and I are going shopping for fabric for our wedding dresses on Saturday. Since part of what Mabon's about for me is preparing (at least symbolically) for the upcoming Winter, and since getting those dresses made will be a very high priority this Winter, I'm trying to convince my fiancee to cast our circle at home and then take it with us to the store for some sacred fabric shopping. Heh.

I’ll be standing waist deep in the Morro Bay estuary surrounded by dozens of seven foot leopard sharks.

that sounds wonderful...when I was younger Eugenie Clark (the shark Lady) was my idol.
so I think I'll be thinking on that on Mabon as well. wow, how cool.

Me Too

I’m getting ready to move so with my vacation time I’m taking four day weekends to do the things I haven’t done as well as my favorite things be fore I go.

Time with the sharks in the estuary and the kelp forest off of Fossil Point is, even though I’ve done it hundreds of times, a priority.

Than It’s up to NorCal and Oregon.

I'm celebrating a bit late, since I wait for the fist day of fall according to the crazy weather in NY. Though on Saturday I am going to my first ritual with the coven I am trying to join, so that will be interesting.
When the time comes I am going to basically have an all day cook and craft-o-thon, with several small rituals throughout the day and one large one after sundown.

Mabon is my friend Lisa's birthday. So we always celebrate that. Since it's a school night for me, we can't do much of anything together. So I just do my own little ritual. This weekend we will hopefully do something fun.
