The same way you celebrate the rest of the holidays. ^^; Just be happy for the time of year it is and all that togetherness stuff. I get to go down to Chicago and see my cousins puppy. He's such a sweetheart. :cutie: The Christmas and Yule stories are very similar anyway. Just do your ritual after everyone is sleeping or before they wake up if you're a morning person.

Yule or Winter solstice is close enough to Dec 25th. A lot of the symbols of Christmas has older pagan meanings. The Tree, Holly & Ivy, misletoe, Yule log, even giving of gifts. And Santa Claus as well. Oh, and definitely Mary as the Mother and the Christ child as the reborned Holly King. As well, enjoy the time with your family, just think of it as looking at it from another perspective.

Well, my family is predominatly Catholic too. But I still celebrate in little ways. I have my own tree in my bedroom that I decorate with my own ornaments. I mentioned in another post how my mom let's me incorporate some Pagan stuff at her annual party.

with me at least, 'Christmas' is a cultral holiday more than anything else. so i don't mind getting the day off, eating lots of food, and getting 'stuff'. it's celebrating family, and childhood and good times.
i'm fortunate to live in a totally Pagan household, in a predominately Pagan community. but even when this was not the case i usually made time to celebrate and ritualize Yule, even if it was no more than a Sabbat meditation. i think marking (and recognizing) the 'wheel' is very important.

SHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Do you want all the Xians to know that the MidWinter celebration is NOT about Baby Jesus? (OK, they ALREADY know that's it's about giving & getting presents, under the PRETENSE of Baby Jesus, but no reason to spoil our fun, or theirs, either... ). Just don't let on that you're thinking anything different while going through essentially the same motions... I doubt they'll even notice...

I'm surprised. Christmas and Yule are virtually the same holiday - the same symbols are used, and the same symbolism is found (the birth of the new baby God child) - wreaths, trees, red and green, bells, candies, holly, mistletoe, family time, love, and cheer. So therefore exactly as someone else has said here - just think of it on your own terms and fitting your own beliefs, otherwise there's no need to really change anything.

It just means you get to celebrate twice.. on Dec. 21 and on Dec. 25. See... pagans aren't greedy... we're twice blessed. :) bb talamh
