okay, I'm new to this , but here is my problem....I will be in a completely relaxed state, blank mind, everything...and I will start to see images. But it is like I start to realize what's going on and start "trying to hard" to recognize the images, people, and places...and it goes away. I've done this since I was a little kid, it's nothing that I've "tried" to do. So what I want to know is, if I use a tool, like a mirror, and try to do this while "awake" will the images make sense to me? (sorry if this sounds strange, but I'm interested in what I may see):crystalba

actually the state your explaining is a very good thing!
learning to be passive towards the images that your
seeing is the trick to this.
next time your meditating and you star seeing images floating
by your vision, and your recognizing the fact that your seeing images
start "again" practicing on a comfortable breathing technique to focus
on like 5 count through the nose "inhale,5 count out the mouth "exhale".
there are several ways of using these images that your seeing, one way
would be to focus on a single image and explore it as if your holding it in
your hand, mentaly turn the image around,"walk" the surface of the image etc.
the second technique to working with these images would be to "Become" these
images and "ride" that image to move further within your meditative exploration.
and the 3rd technique would be to start visualizing swirls of energy akin to a whirlpool
let yourself fall into these images and see whats on the other side ;)
