Hansel and Gretel?

I've always been deeply enchanted by the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel, and I often find myself dreaming about a journey in the forest, arriving at some sort of mystical ginger bread house... and I'm not sure if the witch is good or bad... but in the dreams I feel more excited and adventurous than afraid.

I know this fairy tale must have some great symbolic significance for my life...though I can't figure out what it is. Hansel and Gretel is just so mystical to me... and I want to know why!
