View Full Version : Divination Weekly Topic ~ Timeline for Readings
Hope
October 13th, 2005, 11:09 AM
Ok so the weekly topics are a great place for everyone to share their thoughts or questions on a certain topic about divination. Hopefully we can learn or share something new for ourselves or others.
This week let's start with:
How do you decide the timeline for the divination work you are doing?
If it's for now, present time, today; or longer a week, month, year?
If you have a suggestion for a weekly Divination topic, please PM me.

I look at what I am trying to answer to see if that tells me if not I just goes with whatever comes

I think that is a very common way that folks look at it (and btw thanks for jumping so we can get going)
can you try and explain what you mean a little more when you say
I just goes with whatever comes

I work solely with my mind not tools so even if I work on a direct question relating to the next week say I can sometimes also get info about other things.
I channel info and don't control with what I get so sometimes it can go of at an unexpected angle

For timeline questions, I do not use Tarot cards or any other diviniation tool. I interpret the images shown to me in my mind's eye to give out time frames associated with events. For example, I associate an hourglass with 'hour' (duuh), so if I am shown an hourglass or anything related to an hourglass, I interpret the event to come about in a matter of hours. It is not just the images shown, but also the knowing that comes with it that helps interpret the overall impression.

smiles that's a great answer imo, because it is so accurate that folks need to learn the things they identify with
journalling often can help people find those things, by keeping track of the details you can find your own patterns

I do have a journal, but while writing in it, my handwriting becomes so highly illegible by the end of the first sentence that I need a lens to decipher any further than the first few words. :durrrr:

laughs thats the thing about record keeping, it takes time to make a good habit of it
and if you think about it there really are not many things that prepare you or practice you for it

That is not really my problem - I just find it to personal to write down (I never write anything I don't want others to see) and also it forms to rigid a structure which stops me from learning more
Its odd as i love writing but for things like this I guess i use other forms

being worried that others will find it and read it is a huge concern for a lot of folks
it's sad that so many people have a concern for a basic privacy in their own homes
the nice thing about journalling is it doesnt have to be rigid, unless you choose it to be... and can really help you recall a number of things that get pushed aside
BUT in fairness we should be talking timelines laughs
i find many different readings lend themselves more easily to the shorter term
and that longer time frames are generally more detailed, meaning more to divine thru for both the short and then the long term... anyone else?

Isn't this the fun of places like this - that things suddenly go of at tangents
I actually live alone so the chances of someone finding it are slim but I don't want it read whether I am alive or dead. I've burnt the ones i did start as they really arn't my thing
What works for one person can hinder another -I've been there done that and realised it didn't work for me -the art is working out which method works for you and I have found my method and its not journelling
Anyway timelines - short term -i guess it depends how short term short term is as to how detailed it can be. for example I once did a reading concerning something that was going to happen in the next 4 hours (can't get much more short term) I got one massive detail about it and nothing else. There was no detail at all as to how exactly it would effect the people involved or anything else. But that was all I needed to know at that time.
Longer time frames can be very detailed but then more is likely to happen
I don't think the time frame determines the detail - its more to do with what will happen in that time frame. Most of us go through very dull times when nothing much happens in our lives -therefore the reading will have less detail

I am sorry i confused you in my post, that's what happens when you are in a hurry! I was simply trying to facilitate more discussion so folks felt like they could participate too; and remembered the topic of htis weeks thread. By details I simply meant, having to look beyond where you are today and what's in your head now, and where potential growth will come from in a long term way. i never meant that you don't get details for instant stuff, that would be silly! after all when you are using a pendulm for example to find a missing item, you can get a lot of details for something happening in the next 5 minutes (laughs less minutes if you know what you are doing!) as with most divination forms trying things to learn your strengths and weaknesses is how we grow too, just like you learned about journalling :) love hope

The thing is, most of the people who ask for readings want to know the timelines, when will this happen, when will that happen etc. I guess this gives them some kind of assurance and certainty. Timeline information can be difficult to give because so many times it is not a straight case of things falling in place by themselves. Some action may have to be taken by a third party and in such cases, the chances of the event occuring in the first place are not under the sitter's control. I hope I make sense.

makes perfect sense!!! and excellent thank you for saying it yes that does happen a lot will i meet the right person today? tomorrow? this week? and they arent ready to hear it's more about well these are the things that need to happen to get you there or will happen in the fall, or not right away and they say ok early oct? smiles often time is not what people think and want, it's not really a daily schedule or a perfect picture of time doesnt mean it cant be though .. smiles thanks for taking us in a new direction here tonight love hope

Timelines are hard... I can usually intuitively tell a vague timeline, as in "soon," "near future," or "distant future."
I should journal more, so I can catch all the little things, and find similarities and what to look for.. :)

The other thing is though that time works differently say in the spirit world (time is an illusion and all that) so sometimes time is a strange thing in itself
