View Full Version : hallucinogenic herbs

I've been experimenting with trances lately, and I've found that the only way I can get into them easily is by using an illegal substance and repetitive music (such as drumming or something similar). I'd really rather stay away from as many law-breaking activities as I can, so I was wondering if there was anything _LEGAL_ that would help me enter a trance state like this other substance does. I came across some datura and I'm considering trying that (in a VERY small dose), but I think it might be too strong for what I'm looking for. Thoughts?

Mushrooms, the conical pixie hat'd type and perhaps Fly Agaric, are both legal to consume fresh and unprocessed (e.g. drying them) in Ireland.
Personally, Fly Agaric I find very strong, and requires me being undisturbed for hours.
and btw Saiya, I love your Avatar! Bub or Bob, I could never distinguish.
all the best

I'd be careful with that Datura. Erowid reports (http://www.erowid.org/plants/datura/datura_dose.shtml) that most people who use it have negative experiences.
Actually, if you've never heard of that site (Erowid), I'd do some searching around there. They're a pretty thorough resource on the kind of thing you're looking for. And truthful, since most of their material comes from accounts of people who have used the stuff.

I've read Erowid, but I'd still like to experiment. I'm going to start out with a very small dose and see what it does for me.
But the whole reason I posted this thread was so I might be able to find other herbs BESIDES datura to use, because I've heard some bad things about it. In any case, thanks for your advice! :D

That sounds like a nice mix there, I bet it tastes nice too. Another really good herb to add to a mix is Lion's tail (wild dagga), I find it very trancy, similar to weed but more in the body, also good for great dreams.
Another noteworthy herb that has not grown to popular, for some reason, is elephant's head.
An herb that is great for hallucinations (visions) is salvia. In the extracted form it will put you straight into a total vision, and it won't poison you. It's totally legal (for now), but you need to have a sitter around for about an hour, to make sure you don't try to leave, etc. Not a drug you feel like doing often either, certainly not for parties or clubs. This is strictly a shaman drug to induce visions, and I recomend it WAY more then datura.
