I recieved a letter from a young lady that had been at my website the other day. I am going to post it here in hopes that some of you can help answer her questions as well :)

..."I was hoping to find a spell to remove bad luck I think that someone put a spell on me I have had bad luck for over a year and just found out that their sister practices witchcraft is it possible to cast such a spell on some one please let me know. Thank you for your time"...

Sounds to me like someone who's looking to put the blame on someone else, rather than taking responsibility for her own actions. Then again, I could be wrong. However, more often than not in the Craft, what I said above is correct.

I know I am one of the most inexperienced probably on this site, but I did not beleive you could put spells on people to bring them harm? Does it not revert back to yourself? I feel sorry for this girl if she has done something to her sister, it's not what you call a good family atmosphere.

If this lady believes she is hexed, then she is. By the same token, if she believes that a spell will remove it, it will.

You are also right Sisba, because you believe that a "bad" spell would rebound, then it would for you. Belief is the most amazingly powerful ability that we have, and has to be the foundation of any successful magical operation.

I agree with Silverwitch. We all know too that if indeed a negative spell was cast on someone it will reflect negatively on the spell caster. My suggestion would be to do a ritual to release any negativity or bad luck from your life, and karma will take care of the spell caster.

Ahh, Silverwitch, you are one wise woman!
Yes, indeed, if this person has decided to cast a spell, or say a prayer, to remove the obstacles she percieves in her life, then she is taking a positive step forward. She will be taking her fate into her own hands, which is where it belongs.
Tana, I would add:
Caution her not to assign blame to the friends sister. Just because the girl "Practices Witchcraft" is not any reason to suspect her. Let her know that her spell will find its way to the evilwisher, and that she may NEVER KNOW exactly who it was.
(hmm... I notice that I am posting to an old thread here. Did you hear back from this person? What advice did you give her? I ask because it's such a common questoin, and we could all use a few answers handy!
