View Full Version : Aspiring Kitchen Witch Seeking Help!

So allright, I have decided to really take this seriously and work on my Kitchen Witchy skills.
I have begun compiling Recipes, Herbal Lore and Tips, etc etc on my computer and I am getting ready to slowly print it all out and create a Kitchen Witchy BoS (Seperate from my BoS that is already in existance).
I live with my grandparents, so the Kitchen there is off limits for me LMAO since my grandmother is both Polish AND Jewish therefore the kitchen is HERS and is sacred, and for anyone else to use the kitchen, much less COOK and BAKE in it -- Is pure Blasphamy! LMAO
So I told my mom that whenever I come to visit her and my dad at their house (once every couple of weeks or so) for the weekend, that I will try to cook or bake something.. She laughed, of course, since she knows that so far I have not been successful in the cooking department.
But I am determined!
Therefore, I would like to ask ye all more experienced Cooking & Baking lovers, or those Kitchen Witches amongst us -- Any tips? Websties? Links? Recipes? Suggestions? For an Aspiring Kitchen Witch?
Many many thanks!

I think most good cooks love to share their knowledge. Especially if they are passing things down within family. Make plans with your Grandma or Mom to prepare special dishes. As you learn things first hand you can include them into your BOS.

well, go onto foodnetwork.com or check out a cookbook or watch the cooking channel and get yourself some recipes.
figure out a mantra or chant to recite as you stir.
figure out which herbs or essences have meaning to you.
and get cracking!
i like rosemary to remember,
rose flavor for a broken heart
thyme to soothe
eggs (served whole and softboiled) as a fertility symbol. not just fecundity, but also the fertility of the mind for ideas.
the blender, actually makes me think of energizing. so it makes energy smoothies. ha. i'm modern.
and... comfort foods for comfort and stability.

Never try turning up the heat beyond the recommended temperature to speed up the process. The end results are worth the time it takes to let it cook properly.

I know you are taking the KW course. I have to apologize I haven't been to active in there. Pretty soon we will be getting more to the meat ( no pun intended) of the course- actually cooking with spellwork in mind.
My biggest suggestion for Cooking 101 is to plan ahead!!
Read over the recipe, get all of the ingredients, tools, pans etc. Read the recipe again. I cannot tell you how many times I have screwed up a recipe thinking it said one thing and it really meant another.
As for KWitchcraft- there are some pretty decent books in the "Further Reading" Thread of the KW class.
Off the bat, I would reccomend Cunningham's Wicca in the Kitchen. Not lots of recipes, but a great resource for correspondences and Sabbat cooking.
Should I start a Cooking 101 thread here? For tips for beginner cooks?
