Help! Strep won't go away!

Me and my family need some healing energy. I've been off the boards alot because I was sick then my kids, 12 & 5, got sick and so we all went to the doctor and found we had strep throat. Soooooo I spent lots of money on doctors and meds, no insurance,wasn't able to work for a week, we all took our antibiotics on time, I just finished mine last thursday, and yesterday I woke up with a sore throat again. Today it feels so swollen and hurts and then my kids started coughing a little last night! Ugh :( I can't afford to go to the doctor again and take my kids and now maybe my husband also, who seemed to have gotten out of it last time. Please send me healing energy and maybe some luck. I'm going to call my doctor and see if he'll just call in a prescription or something. Any other suggestions would also be very welcome.

Gargle with vinegar, cider vinegar to be exact. Do not dilute it, use about 3 Tbs. and gargle 4 times daily.

It tastes like heck, but it works.

I'll open up my herbology and look for some other remedies that are hopefully not expensive.

Droseraceae

The insect eating, carnivorous plant Sundew is an expectorant remedy used in acute conditions such as whooping cough, acute bronchitis, and acute strep throat. Used in the right context it can be quite helpful with this very disturbing condition. But it is not a remedy for daily use. Use only for acute conditions.

Preparation & Dosage:
Infusion: pour a cup of boiling water onto 1 teaspoonful of dried sundew and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes. This should be drank three times daily.

When used as a tincture, take 1-2ml of tincture three times daily.

This is Shadow Dreamer's wife....it could be allergies. Many times doctors mistake tonsillitis and strep (if a culture is not done). When I was younger I was always diagnosised with tonsillitis, put on 10 day antibiotics and the day after I finished would have a sore throat, swollen glands, runny nose, the whole gammit of symptoms. It took a very smart ENT and a month long course of antibiotics to diagnos allergies. You would have thought after a month of antibiotics that if it was bacterial it would have cleared up. It didn't. The very next day I had a sore throat.

With the way weather patterns are changing, more and more people are having allergy type symptoms that may have never had allergies in the past. You could try over the counter remedies to treat symptoms, but if it is viral, it will just have to run its course, antibiotics will do nothing but mask the symptoms.

Not saying this is the case for you, but this happened to our family several times in a row and it was finally discovered that we had both strep and staph together, a different antibiotic was prescribed, and it finally cleared up with the new prescription.
