What's New in History Forum right now? Well, beyond some wonderful links to interesting subjects from recently discovered hellenistic tombs, to a historical account from the day that Ellis Island closed it's doors, and wonderful essays such as the irony of Euripedes' last play...you'll also find some wonderful interactive threads.

For instance:

What moment of time would you love to revisit as a fly on the wall, to witness first hand?

Or:

What happened on the exact day of YOUR birth?

Hope you'll all come and join us!

This Just In: New Interactive Thread:

If History were viewed on a scale chart, you'd see that certain years had an overwhelming number of historical events occur. Which do YOU find to be the most historical year..the year which captures your imagination, and in which you find the most history making events to have occurred, which interest you?

Also, if any of you can answer this question, on the origins of the Hebrew Tribes, Someone would be greatly appreciative.

This week, we have a couple of history students who have posed thoughtful subjects for papers they are working for. They could use your help. See either David 19's "Need Help with an Essay" thread, or TheTempestuous1's Thread "Who owns the past" to add your $.02 :)

You can also find a bit of the holiday spirit in this weeks History Forum, by reading "Maeshowe Winter Solstice". Click on the link, see photos and descriptions, and find yet another link, where you can see the winter solstice from the Maeshowe Monuments Point of View..
