The Poet's Craft- Subjects for Writing (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=115856)
Well, it's posted! It took some energy, but it was worth it. I'm learning as I type it out! If you'd like to get some more juice for writing, I'm guiding a course on all different sorts of subjects to write about and at the end of the writing excursion I'm doing, there are ideas for writing and excersizes to help you create a guideline for your next poem.
(Grammar and Editing are NOT your enemies!)
Anyway, it's up!
Our first dip into this book, "The Poet's Companion, A Guide To The Pleasures of Writing," is about Family.
Enjoi!

I understand it may not be a very post-able subject, but has anyone even read it, or making use of it?
Too early to tell?
Your opinion would be appreciated, thanks!

I really liked the list idea, about listing your good and bad traits and writing about it. I think I'd like to try that. :-D

:) Thanks for your response, I wasn't sure anyone was interested...
Well alright then, I'll keep going. I'm excited to get into Erotica and Shadow.

I like it! My biggest problem when writing is having a subject or guideline. I usually just listen to whatever words pop in my head and see what happens. Thanks for doing this, it is much help. :)

I'll keep that in mind and see if maybe I have something that deals with those things in particular.
Glad you're liking it. :)

ATTN: Part II is up and ready, this week it deals with writing about Death & Grief, creative ways to express this all too depressing aspect of life.
Would love to see some works spurr off this stuff, if you write something that was inspired by the subjects, please feel free to share. I'm all eyes.

I'm not much of a poet, but reading through the section on death has given me some inspiration. I might be able to pull off the blue and the red suggestions. I have two characters who'd be perfect for this, plus at the end of one story, they both end up dead. I'd love to see them reunited again. And this time I'm not going to use Evanescence lyrics. Way too sad. I'll write just about them. :) Might even be the first ever piece of poetry I publish here on MW (possibly the first piece I've ever put on here -- my fiction isn't good for the PG-13 guidelines). Thanks for the inspiration. There might be a poet inside me yet.

ATTN: I added one early, we've only got a few of this particular section to go, and I'm antsy to begin working with similes and metaphors, images, voice and style, etc.... The Shadow has been added.
Let me know if the way I write is too fragmented and I'll start using more quotes from the book, but I'm practicing as we go as well. It's good to know that it's being put to use, or found interesting.
Would anyone like a new thread to be opened so we could share what we've done?
