View Full Version : A kind of odd question for the Satanists of our group...

Hi guys,

I was chatting with someone on the Kemetic forum and he mentioned a link that borrows and twists ancient Egyptian gods and myths for its own purposes. But that's not what has piqued my interest. This satanist sect can believe whatever it wants (as historically in accurate as it might be). What I want to know is....

In your particular beliefs as a Satanist, is Satan an alien the way this site ( www.joyofsatan.com (http://www.freewebs.com/eridu666/Origins.html)) believes? Or is this group a complete whack-job as far as you're concerned?

:foh:

Um....well... :foh:

Trying to be nice, I'd say this:
I guess if you look at it in a really backwards kind of way, they are basically talking about the myth of the Titan gods, only choosing to call them extra-terestrials instead of "higher power"....it's just an...odd little twist on a basic belief.

But in all reality...they're freaking fruitlooped out! (imho)

In my Satanic beliefs, Satan doesn't exist as anything more than an archetype representing various principles and ideals.

Then again, is an entity existing on another planet any harder to believe than an entity existing in the clouds, in a volcano, or as the moon or earth itself? It wasn't so long ago that people considered the planets and stars to be gods. And if deities can be immanent in our own environment, why shouldn't they exist on other planets?

I believe the Divine to be immanent both in the earth and sky around me as well as the entire universe. Does it make me a fruit loop that my god is in the moon?

I see your point. I was just asking because from what I'd been given to understand, Satan is exactly what you said in your first sentence. I didn't know how the belief in an alien god jibed with the part about not having an actual god at all other than one's own self.

Ah, well, there are forms of theistic Satanism. I believe there used to be at least one member here who was a theistic Satanist, so hopefully they can respond.

Also, this site may be helpful, it's by Diane Vera who I understand to be a respected theistic Satanist.

has anyone else noticed that the most extreme the color contrast is on a website, the more insane the content seems to be?

or is it just me?

Agreed. Red text on black is just one step up from YELLOW on black... at least there's no blinking ;)

Oh, good. I'm not the only one who noted that about the colors. :T

I was reading some of their main page and kept imagining if their site would have the same drawing power for its audience if it were a white background with blue words or something.

I think i was the one who showed you the site and glad to see not all Satanists like it, i also have been to Diane Vera's site before (plus i'm a member of one of her forums) and her site is defently cool, some of the beliefs suit mine although i'm not a satanist but about the gods and other things is kind of close to my belief.

Also if anyone would like to know even more, how crazy and dumb the Joy of Satan site is, another site of hers is www.666blacksun.com (i think). You should understand what she really is from this second site.
