I've been interested in Asatru for a while and would like to do some kind of ritual or something to honour the gods or some of them but i have no idea how. I've read about blots and sumbels but on the sites i've read, it looks like you need a lot of tools and other things and since i'm a student, i don't have a lot of money, are there any other ways i can honour the gods/ancestors/wrights, etc without spending lots of money on tools.

Thanks.

A lot of tools? I think Asatru's rituals are a lot more simple than a lot of other religion's rituals and certainly a lot of tools are not required. Generally, in blot or sumbel, there is a drinking horn. Drinking horn can easily be replaced with any thing that can hold something to drink. A glass, a cup, a bowl. Then you have something to drink. Most of us here, use mead. Mead is hard to come by unless you know a homebrewer. (commercial mead is generally not as good) but you can use anything. Wine, beer, juice, water. If you don't have a "thor's hammer" to do a hammer rite (which is of course debatable as to whether you need to do the hammer rite or not) you can buy a wooden handled metal hammer/mallet and decorate it, carve runes, or leave it as is as a hammer (that is what most of us use anyways) or you can just as easily using the "hammer sign." Which consist of you hold you hand, usually in a fist out in front of you, and moving it down (for the handle) and then to the left and then right (for the metal part of the hammer). And really there is all you need for you basic blot right there.
