Konnichi Wa to All:
I was on Druidry.org's InTheTrees Chatroom when Guardian-San mentioned Geoffrey of Monmouth during a Theological Discussion.
So I decided to multitask and look up Geoffrey of Monmouth's Grave Listing on Findagrave.com.
There was Nothing!
So I left InTheTrees to do some Internet Research on Geoffrey of Monmouth in order to find out more about him and where he may be Buried.
So I Googled "Geoffrey of Monmouth" and I got loads of articles about his Writings, and how Geoffrey had chronicalled the Burials Locations of several Major Figures of the Arthurian Legends. But there is nothing on Geoffrey of Monmouth's Burial Records.
The best I could find was that he may have Died in about 1154 or 1155 in London somewhere. I found only one old water colour painting of him sitting at his desk writing, but nothing else depicting him.
Does anyone have any Knowledge on Geoffrey of Monmouth to share. I am mainly interested in any Good Pictures of him and information on his Burial Location. Hopefully, someone may have a Picture of his Gravesite to post on this thread.

I found the following tidbit of usefull information:
"In 1151 Geoffrey was appointed Bishop of St. Asaph in Flintshire. It was there that he died in 1155."
So Geoffrey of Monmouth must be Buried somewhere in Flintshire.

Ooo I was born there, my sister actually lives in the next county down from Flint in Wales...in Wrexham. Erm, as for Geoffrey, the problem with actual historical details when it soems to people of that era is that many abbeys were destroyed through various ways through out the many wars and conflicts...so many recordss may be lost...but I'd be interested to know as Geoffrey is one I have studied as an avid Arthurian fan.

It has been a little while since I read the books, but there was quite a bit about him in one of the books by Steve Blake and Scott Llyod. The titles I read are Pendragon (subtitle is something like the search for King Arthur) and the The Keys to Avalon. RJ Stewart also had something in his books on Merlin, particularly the one about Geoffrey's Vita Merlini.

If you could get your Sister to ring the Diocese of St. Asaph in order to make the Enquiry about Geoffrey of Monmouth, I would be very much appreciated.
I am wanting to track this down so that I can put together a Grave Listing in findagrave.com for Geoffrey.

I just got the following Email from the Diocese of Llandaff:
Thank you for your email. I have spoken to the diocesan archivist who tells me that the burial place of Geoffrey of Monmouth is not in Wales although she is unsure where it was. It seems that the two places associated with him at towards the end of his life were Westminster and the College of St George Oxford (this no longer exists) so it looks at though that might narrow down your search.
Although he was Bishop of St Asaph he did not visit his diocese and it seems that there many of his welsh links were traditional but not necessarily
proven.
Yours sincerely

The Bishop of Llandaff Cathedral has confirmed that he was referring to Westminster Abbey.
I have therefore sent an Enquiry Email to Westminster Abbey.

I just got an email from Westminter Abbey:
Dear Mr Corrin,
No, I am afraid Geoffrey is not buried at Westminster Abbey. The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (2004), where the entries are written by experts on the particular person, does not give any burial place for him, so perhaps it is totally unknown.

So I am afraid that Geoffrey's Grave Location is not known.

I've just found out that G. de M. was the bishop of St Asaph before he died in 1154. St Asaph is a church somewhere in N.Wales, so seek and ye may find.
