I just found this site http://www.lezbeout.com/ancientgaymarriageoftwomalesaints.htm and it says that they've found evidence of christian same-sex marriages, i thought i'd share it with people here, and see what everyone thinks.
It's just a shame that it didn't get carried into the dominant Christian churches (although now there are some that are supporting gay rights fully).
Anyway hope you like it.

Here's a link to the book they were quoting (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0679751645) in its Amazon.com listing.
The book's been out for a while (it was published in 1995) and from what I've skimmed in it there isn't much doubt that at least some Christians had no problem doing what were essentially religious marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples hundreds of years ago.
But then Dubya speaks to God himself, (or at least Pat Robertson who seems to think he's God himself), and no book with annoying facts is likely to change his mind on things.

Nope. His brain will reject it.
On the plus side, it COULD be the final straw that pushes that fruitbat over the edge, and I'd pay to see that.

Kinda like this Tom Tomorrow cartoon (http://www.hollow-hill.com/sabina/2006/02/boycott_this_toon.html).
Different topic, same effect.

you know, i've never gotten why gay marriages were such a huge deal. people are people are people... i was allowed to marry my husband legally, so what's so different if i wanted to marry a woman?
anyway... i actually had a discussion about this recently with a couple of christian ministers... and amazingly enough.. one of them had no idea that centuries ago, almost everyone 'commited bisexual acts'... but, they did. so... i dunno, i don't get all the hype. *shrug*
