I have learned that the Samurai subscribed to several different beliefs over the centuries that they reigned true in Japan. These beliefs include mainly Zen Buddhism and Shinto. I am asking you, my fellow members here at Mystic Wicks, if you know if they practiced any other beliefs more prominantly? Thank you for your time.

As far as I am aware, from Hagakure, which may be idealized to some extent by the author of the book, Zen was more important for the Samurai because of overcoming fear of death. Here is a link to the book itself (note for mods:the author died a couple of hundred years ago, so no copyright) where someone more knowledgable then me may see hints to other religions. http://users.tkk.fi/~renko/hag1.html

Aye, thank you. I've been searching for an online copy... though I do prefer hard copies to read, this will be sufficient. Much gratitude.

No problem. Ottakars bookstore have the best translation and notes for the book I have seen so far. Sadly, I cant remember who did it, but it has a black cover and is in paperback.
