Subgenius Rant #2: Get Off My Internets.

Little Billy feels that he has been more than generous, allowing people to use his internets the way he does...but it seems that some people have been abusing the privelege.

I'm not just talking about hate groups, like Stormfront or The 700 Club. No, Little Billy has no problem with hate...though the sites above have a very weak hate. A mediocre hate. A puny, narrow hate which pales beside that pure hatred which I feel for you, each and every day.

No, I'm talking about spammers. Now, we've ALL recieved nice letters from people who want to make us rich and increase our penis size...these are annoyances which Little Billy puts up with, out of sheer inertia. Now, however, the Jebus Freaks have gotten into the act. Little Billy turned his comp on this evening, and found 12 emails asking if "I have found Jesus(tm)". Naturally, I replied..."No. Was he in New Orleans, too?"

After all, all I need after a long day of bending thumbs and issuing threats of grave bodily harm is to hear some Jackass extolling the virtues of the WIMP Jebus. The "please nail me to a cross Jebus"...as opposed to the three-fisted drinkin' Jebus...the put his cigar out on your back Jebus...in short, the FIGHTING Jesus.

But, after all, even making fun of Christians fanatics pales after about 8 replies...and so I decided to make a stronger statement...so I sent the remaining 4 spammers bad packets. Let's see if Jesus will heal their computers for them.

Now, none of this should be necessary...you should have been playing nicer on this wonderful toy I gave you. But you couldn't, could you, Mister Jebus Loves You...Mrs Secular Keep Dobbs Out Of The Classroom...Mister Add 3 Feet To Your Penis...No, and now the fun stops. The gravy train(tm) has officially come to a halt.

Christian witches and pagans and many others have here on this site been praying and blessing each other the year I have been here.

We have fought each other,made up with each other,and loved each other.
This forums to me is more than just a forums,its my family.I have no problem with disagreements and I ask no one to except my faith or serve my God and Goddess.I just want to dwell here amongst my friends without seeing the Lord I love trashed.

You have to realize that no two discordians are alike.
Just because me and Eldora are both members of the Church of Eris,doesn't mean that we have the same beliefs.We may view Eris in totally different ways.And that's ok with us.

Subtlety has never been a strong point with us discordians.We have a tendency to say whatever is on our minds.

Many of us (including me)have had real bad experiences with christians and christianity,so the concept of christian pagans is something new to us.Many of us are still getting used to it.
Discordianism kind of dropped out of the pagan mainstream 20 years ago to pursue our own paths.Discordians kind of collectively got tired of constantly being told we weren't true pagans by wiccan hierarchies.we got titred of having to fight for our rights to worship our way.(I'm 42 years old,so i was a part of that generation of discordians)
The chaos mages did the samre thing.Once we discovered the internet,we truly went on our own.
For some reason,discordians are coming back into the pagan community,to find that some things are the same,some things are totally different.
There weren't as many ecletics back then.There weren't many forums.
Neo-con pagans weren't even dreamt of back then.
We didn't even think it was possible to even be christian and a pagan.


We discordians(the Sub-genii can,and will speak for themselves Bobdamnit) are still getting used to pagan forums that actually have rules.
Our forums make Tombstone look like a Mormon picnic.
For some of us,Mystic Wicks is an Tahiti vacation compared to the knock out,drag out battles we deal with on our forums.

The key to dealing with discordians is not to take them tooooo serious.
You're just asking for a jake if you do.
And don't take yourself toooo seriously around them either.

Every discordian( this,I am confident in saying ) is fiercely independent in their own ways.Freedom "to be" is the foundation of discordianism.(We seem to differ with the sub-genii on this).
We aren't just about breaking rules.
We can just as easily play by the rules,as long as we can do it to our own advantage.
If discordianism can be said to have any underlying rules,one of them is"If you get caught,the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of you existance".

Each discordian must walk the Path alone,whether we aknowledge Eris or not.
If you want to talk to a discordian on a one on one equal basis,both sides have to realize that the rules governing one sides belief structure may not be recognized,or even apply to thge other.

Well, if I have offended any non-spamming Christians, I apologize. The gist of the thread was intended to be against spammers, not against Christians in general.

The reason I singled out the Christian spammers is that they are doing this without even trying to make any money off of annoying me. I would do the same if the spammers in question were Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Mormon, or even some freak Discordians with too much time on their hands...however, the ones in question were Christian, and thus were identified as such.

This is a good point. I don't mind playing by the rules on MW for a couple of reasons:

1. It's not my turf. I wouldn't want someone to come on my forums and try to tell me I had to have rules - so why would I come here and say there shouldn't be any?

2. So far, I feel the rules have operated in my favor. When I don't feel that way anymore, I'll either take my lumps or leave or go pout until someone gives me a cookie or something. But it will be my problem to handle the situation and the secretary sure as hell will disavow any knowledge of my existence.

I'm not sure how many others are.

The fact that I'm a strict Christian doesn't mean I'm here to convert, either. I actually just feel this is a message board for any faith, and I find it interesting. So I don't want that to be an assumption either.

Often this assumption that the Christians here must be some form of Christian/Pagan mix hurts the strict-Christians, because Christian bashing or jokes... done with the assumption that the Christian Pagans won't mind... or that it's ok, because they add that they "didn't mean the Christian Pagans, just the Bible thumpers."

Anyway, I'd just like to point out that whoever's reading this right now has officially met a Christian that believes Jesus is the only way, and everything else in the Bible -- but that also believes God gave all of us free will (as stated in the Bible), and that love, gentleness and respect are the ways to go about life (as stated in the Bible), and that respects your decisions to do whatever you want in this life.

If someone's a jerk, it probably has to do with them, not their religion.
