View Full Version : HoN and the RPD: Question

I would ask this over there, but I don't feel comfortable enough and there are some KO people here I thought you might know.

Why doesn't the Nisut (AUS) do any RPDs in person?

Actually She will do one's RPD in person, if so requested. It has just become generally assumed that people will want to do them remotely, to avoid the travel and associated costs (you're already paying for the ritual supplies). I did personally have mine done with a simulcast via instant messager, and it was no less profound for it.

All that said, I think you probably should post on the HoN boards asking to talk to anyone who has had their RPD in person. Believe me, you aren't going to be embarassing yourself or offending anyone. We welcome curiousity! :)

That makes sense. I just assumed the Nisut (AUS) didn't because my RPD information said She didn't "at this time", maybe She has just been swamped lately. I can't have an in person RPD, but I was disapointed when I thought She didn't do them.

I feel much better about the whole thing now.

Harmony Aurore, Right of Parent Divination.

That would actually Rite (or Ritual) of Parent Divination. :)

I had mine done via the House's chatroom, and I felt it was no less significant.

There's nothing wrong with asking questions - it's better to ask than to not ask.

The RPD is a ritual that those who have done the introductory beginner's course (which is free) can have done, where Hemet (AUS) asks your ancestors for messages for you, as well as finding out which Gods were involved in your creation.

My own was very profound and enlightening. I realized things about myself that I never knew - I'm still discovering things about myself from that night (but then it's not even been a year yet!). :boing:

I had mine via AIM.

that sounds very intense. it really interests me. what interests me more is the beginner's course. I have a hard time navigating that site. where does it mention the courses?

Harmony, try this page (http://www.kemet.org/apply.html) and continue reading from there. :) It's out of date, but I'm not sure when the next class starts.

Ahhh... yes I can see how you would get that impression, and how it would be disheartening. I know I would have personally loved to have mine in person, but making the trip was just out of question at the time. Yes, She is quite swamped at the moment, although She has to take the whole day out regardless, if She does any RPD's at all (which is part of the reason why She tends to schedule several in one day). I think it is partly due to the backlog of work She's accumulated from Her travels to Haiti and whatnot, and partly because of Her recently unreliable health. Its one thing to have to reschedule a "remote conferencing" arrangement, and yet another to have to reschedule a road trip, eh? ;)

Ineffably so! :D

how does one sign up for these? if it's already started... is it too late to sign up? I'm really interested in taking the class.

You would sign up by going here:
http://www.kemet.org/apply.html

Read the information given, and if interested, fill out the provided form and mail/e-mail it in. As simple as that. :)

Now, one quirk... Yes a new class is starting, so it probably is too late to get in on this one. It just means the review of your application will be deferred to the next round of classes. (One day they may start having two smaller groups at a time, operating on a stagger... but until then.) Its worth the wait -- I did the same oopsy when I sent mine in (oh so many moons ago!) and had to wait a good while.

Ok. This is what I was hoping to hear. That She is just swamped, overworked and just doesn't have the physical time to do them in person at the moment. Yes, you're right. Rescheduling a road trip would be a huge hassle, especially for someone who has 3165315 places to be and do, and only 24 hours to do them in.

I'm not glad she's swamped....ach! I hope you know what I meant.

:fpraise:Man how I hope that was a demonstrative exageration and not literally what you have to do... Insanity, I tell you!

I know Hemet has done at least one RPD in person, but it's rare. I had mine done over the phone.
