I'm not really Asatruer but there are many Asatruer/Heathens on this board, i think the main place to talk about Asatru would be the Recons thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=225), anyway hope that helps.

ah, i was wondering about that as you are the only reply. are you a member of a kindred? No, I don't believe in kindreds. I know alot of Asatruar (my friends included) might disagree with me, but it seems to me that kindreds only divide an Asatru community whereas in the absense of kindreds, disputes between individuals are treated as such instead of everyone taking sides. The same goes for Theoish "tribes" but it's worse.

are there many asatru in oklahoma?Yup. There are three separate Heathen groups here in the OKC metro area, and about three kindreds up in Tulsa. I'm finding more heathens every day. We also have a bit of a "pilgrimage site" here in Oklahoma, the Heavener Runestone. It was left here by vikings who sailed up the Arkansas river. Basically everyone in the state supports this theory, people outside the state... not so much. Either way, lichin and erosion tests date it's risting to between 600 and 900 CE. It was translated by a Danish proffesor as "Glomedal", "Glome" is assumed to possibly be a name, "dal" means "valley".

gayleOn this site, "Circle Of Teaching: Heathenry" is a bit more heathen specific, but it doesn't get much play. The Recon subforum get's a bit into Asatru too. Here are to off-site heathen forums:

Asatru here as well. Not part of kindred, as I don't have the time currently. But I frequent one and if I did have the time I would ask to join. Kindreds from what I have heard are run a little differently all over the US. However all the ones in Northeast I feel are one big community. While some kindreds seem to have more issues than others - for the most part, members of one kindred frequently visit other kindreds to go to their blots, and all of the kindreds + others meet up at the East Coast Thing and all keep in contact with each other through the Northeast Asatru Mailing list. And personally think community is a large part of Asatru. While I do know of a handful of people who spend most of the time blotting by themselves, hell I have even done it on occasion, there is something that comes out of being part of the community that you can't get on your own.
