Well, Sun night we had to take my oldest son (Neil) to the hospital... again. He has MS and had another bad flare up. He couldn't walk and his speech got real slurred. I really worry because I've known other people with MS that have been doing alot better than what he's been doing. I've also seen how bad it can get at "the end". He's only 30 and just got diagnosed 3 years ago. It just seems it's come on so quick and so hard! I've look for alternative treatments for him but with MS it seems so confusing! 1 source says this and that and another says stay away from the same things! Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Well, he's going to be there at least through Wed. probably longer. They may change his Med.s again but there aren't many left to try.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Oh Honey Im so sorry you are going through this. Your son has my prayers as well as you and your family. I know there are alot of commercials out here with Montel Williams and how he has battled it. You might want to goggle him.

Healing for your precious son. May the progression be slowed and all things become more comfortable for him.

Thanks All!
When I went to see him he had wrestling on the TV and we started talking about his HS athletics. Yes he was my JOCK and that makes this all the harder... it seems like it was only weeks ago he was in football and westling. Now to see him having trouble getting around with a walker...
Well, enough sobs... Got to go Google Montel! (Thanks 'Mommy')

Strength and peace for both you and your son. I have worked as a private duty nurse for ppl with MS and I know how hard it can be to see a flare up in someone you love. I hope your son can go home soon. I will send energy and say a prayer for remission.

has your son tried acupuncture? I had a friend diagnosed with MS, and she continued to exercise, eat properly and then she went to an acupuncturist which helped tremendously and she actually started improving. I can't say what the long term results are, as we moved and I lost contact with her.

I've looked into it but unfortunately I haven't found any one within a reasonable distance... I don't drive and neither can he so we have to depend on others to take us.
Thanks

OK, they transferred him to a different hospital today and are giving him some more intensive therapy. I sure hope it helps... I could hardly understand him on the phone today.

Warm hugs and universal energy to you and healing for your son.
Try to find out if your area has transportation for him. Most cities have some form of transportation for their elderly or ill not able to drive folks. Call your local social services agencies, or even (gasp) a local church to ask for information. If you can set up some rides with an agency it might not bother him as much to ask to get to appointments than if he is constantly asking friends. Sadly that is a lesson we all learn at some point... that asking is harder than giving.
