as some of you know, I had a incident a couple years ago involving a sick and twisted individual, and my innocent 6 (now 8) year old daughter. After two years of waiting we are finally going to court starting Tuesday. Any energies and prayers for a positive outcome in our favor would be apprieciated. Also any strength prayers to help my daughter testify in open court.

WE WON!!!!!:fprisoner

and she never had to testify. He got scared of her being on the stand and pled out just before she was due to testify. :stomp: Only one person had to. Personally, since we had offered him the same deal two days prior, before a jury was selected and testimony began and he refused it, along with supeonaing two of my best friends for the defense, plus my 10 year old nephew, only to turn around and beg for the deal just before she went on the stand; I think he was trying to hurt as many people has he could on his way down. His attorney even got annoyed at him. I had a person sitting in the court room, listening (read spy) and she told me that his attorney said "If I was you and I was innocent, I would take my chances with the jury" to which the defendant replied (crying no less) "they are never going to believe me over her", to which the attorney said "your right. I just saw her in the hallway and she's happy to be here. There is a jury in the other room though, waiting to hear her testimony, and from what I saw she's excited to be giving it. You need to tell me what you want to do. Did we go through this whole ordeal for nothing?" Looks like it doesn't it? hehehehe....I just keep laughing.

He's been sentenced to 5 years in jail, with 2 being time served, and has to register for the rest of his life. Personally, I would have loved to see him rot in jail for the rest of his life, but I'll take the 5 years. I discussed it all with my daughter before I agreed to the deal and she's ok with it too. All she has wanted this whole time is for him to admit he did it, and pay the price. And she doesn't want him getting access to another little kid.

The only major negative that is overshadowing this triumph, is that her biological father never bothered to come down to the courthouse, or call his daughter. He knew we were in town, and he knew where and why, but I never heard from him. I haven't even told him that we won and that she didn't testify. I figure if he cared he would have called or showed up. Nor did I take her by to see him, and she never asked to go. We did go see her PawPaw though, but he hasn't spoken to his son either. Oh well...

WE WON!!!!!

This brought tears to my eyes. My daughter never got the opportunity to face the person who hurt her and see him serve time. Much good energy to you and your daughter!!
