Kitchen Witch Creed:
In this pot, I stir to the sun,
an' follow the rule of harming none.
Banishment of bane when goin' widdershins;
an' with water and salt negativity is cleansed.
Household duties are more than chores.
Magick abounds when mopping floors.
With this broom, I do sweep;
to clean my house and safely keep.
Marigold, Basil, Thyme, and Yarrow;
my spell is cast for a better tomorrow.
Lemons for joy and apples for health;
the power within brings all great wealth.
And, in this kitchen I do pray;
To truly walk the Witches' Way

I should clarify: I did not write that myself, am unsure as to who the original author is, but this is posted in many different books and web sites.

I love this creed, I keep it on my refrigerator. And that is an awesome cross stitch project, as mentioned!

This is very nice, but I have a question.
Are there any chants or anything of a similar nature that have nothing to do with the Wiccan Rede? Just curious, as I do not claim a specific religion.

It would be easy to tweak for non-Wiccans or a non-Wiccan influence. Lesse......here's something off the top of my head:
In this pot, I stir to the sun
In the hopes that my will be done
OR
In this pot, I stir to the sun
All in this house shall act as one
To dispel darkness, all bane shall end
With salt & water, negativity is cleansed
(if someone else is helping you out with your cleansing / cleaning)
Whatever your path, you can use this format as a base and just insert whatever, wherever you like to fit you

Thank you, this answers my question so far, unless someone else has something to add.
So there really isn't just a basic, nondenominational witch creed and or anything similar.
That's sort of disappointing to me. But I'm sure I'll be disappointed again at some point in my life. lol I think I'll just stick with making up my own chants before I do rituals and request the presence of my deities (if they choose to be there) through those instead.
Thank you for your reply Nitefalle!!!

Well, back when that was probably written, I'm sure Wiccan was "non denominational" as there seem to be new pathways everyday. Back in Paganism's amoeba stage, everything was sort of just lumped together and it was okay, even as recently as the 90's. Nowadays, what I write for me might strike one or two other people, but on the whole it won't satisfy the pagan community. People keep looking to the "originals" and the "old tomes" but I think they are fast becoming socially irrelevent.
What my original point was (I think) was that it's better to write your own, whether for a simple charm or a highly involved ritual.

I completely agree with you here and it's what I have thought all along, but just was curious if there was something that I was missing.
Thanks!!!

Here's a traditional Witches' Creed (http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/bos361.htm) by Doreen Valiente. As Nitefalle said, back when this was probably written, the distinction between what is now called "Wicca" and Witchcraft was blurry.

That was my thought when I read it. For the most part, my crocheting days are few and far between. However, I'm a baby blanket maker. Since January, I have made eight blankets for friends. I have four more to make in the coming months.
