Do you beleive there is a divine masculine? Divine feminine? Both? Or Neither? This is different than a question of which divinity you follow (hence what gender they are). But rather, assuming you follow the christian God, do you ALSO beleive in a female aspect, just the female aspect, both or neither? Explain.
Personally, I beleive God doesn't have a sex. I beleive that sex is just something that reproduces a living organism. And since God doesn't need to reproduce, He has no sex. The reason I refer to God as a He, is because it is habit by now. But I don't feel that christianity is weighted in any particular gender or it makes GOd more special because He is refered to as a male. I also feel that the angels are also sexless. FOr the same reason that God is. No reason to reproduce. I understand the idea of female and male qualities in magick. But I feel that those are reaslly expressed most in humans. Not in the Divine.

PS, of course I must admit, I have a very damaged veiw of the act of sex to begin with. (bad experiences) SO this may have to do with my view on this subject.

Can I vote "Both" AND "Neither"? :hahugh:
Oh, I'm supposed to EXPLAIN too?
Ummm ... God, the universe, everything is a unity that is necessarily (logically) a polarity of contrasts and opposites.
Did my explanation help? ;)

Okay, could you explain a little bit more? I have ADD, sometimes it takes a while for me to understand things.

Sorry, I was being silly.
I don't think the Divine is either male or female. God has no gender. God, I think though, does contain all "masculine" attributes and all "feminine" attributes.
At this point in my journey, I think of God somewhat cosmically and as all around me. So when I pray, I picture the universe, the stars, earth, light, water ... all that is. :)

i don't believe God has a gender either, or at last not one exclusive one. I sometimes think of God as Father and sometimes as Mother.
(Relating to God as Goddess is a sort of new thing for me right now, and kind of exciting!)

Although God is not really male or female, patrarchal societies referred to God as He. In Genesis one God is translated from the word Elohim which is male/female plural

Both and neither. Both because I see the Divine as enveloping all aspects of both sexes and yet, neither, because the Divine is without sex. It's hard to explain what goes on in my brain, but that's just how I see it.:)

You might find it interesting to do a Google for "Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom". This might be a good place to start: http://holyspirit-shekinah.org/_/sophia_lost_goddess_of_wisdom.htm

Both and neither, for me. The divine has no sex, but as a human being its almost as if I need to see those aspects to connect to in certain ways. For years only seeing God as Father only distanced me, so lately I have been addressing God as Mother and it has helped. I think it's because each sex represents a number of qualities that you need at different times. Like now I need someone to watch over me, support me, and help me to heal- and nurturing aspects such as those are represented more by the feminine side.
If that makes any sense at all. Haha.
