How do you know if a house is haunted or there is an echo of an event that is being played back repeatedly?

Are you asking how do you know if you have an actual ghost/haunting OR if you have a residual haunting? Like...how do you tell the difference? Or are you asking how a person can tell if a house is haunted, period?

a residual is an event replaying itself over. could just be smells or it could be someone doing the same thing over and over.

an actual spirit will do things like move keys, open doors, make noises. And it will show intelligence.

LMAO. Neither do ghosts. Apparently all they can do is knock and create cold spots.

Depends on the ghost.

If a ghost is going to haunt my house, he/she will have to accept that we have standards, and will not settle for such puny phenomena. If the ghosts can't impress us, out they go.

On this end; my ghosts loved playing tricks on the friends who would come to my house. ^^;

I've had them turn on music boxes while my friends were sitting in the room saying they didn't believe in ghosts, I've had my ghost help me beat The Legend of Zelda by plunking Link into the end of the game with the princess because my friend and I were wishing we could see the end of the game, I've had my ghost push my friends when they went into the bathroom, and I've had them hide my nylons. ^^;

And that's just a part of it. o.o
