I had been at home all day, hadn't been around anyone other then my DH and later in the evening I had this over welming sadness...I just wanted to cry but didn't know why. Everything in my life is great and usually when something is bothering me I know what it is. DH wasn't having a bad day or anything either.
This happens to me every now and then...I just sit and think about what it could be and realize that everything is fine, then I might cry a bit (depending on how sad I feel) then after awhile everything is fine again.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this happen to them and what you all think it could be.

Hi FMG,
I get like this every now and then, but I generally put it down to either hormones (a sure sign that pmt has begun) or the weather (if it's stormy, of dismal). But, if it's not any of these reasons, maybe being at home all day - detached from the world? - takes its toll without you realising it? Maybe that's why you're crying inside - you need to connect with another person, or be outside? Do you normally spend much time alone? I'm afraid I don't know anything about you, so am only looking at it from my perspective, but I hope it helps in some way.
Also, if I haven't been giving myself enough time/consideration and then I sit down and relax/meditate, I can suddenly feel very tearful and it often feels like it's for no apparent reason until I realise I've been neglecting my inner self.
Hope it's just passing and you work out what it's all about ;)

Sometimes if I have had too much overload from the news (hubby LOVES to listen to the news), it will get to me when I least expect it. So, I turn on either some relaxing music, or something upbeat...start working on something I enjoy (arts & crafts, maybe writing, or go for a walk), and then I start to feel better.

Thanks for your replies!
I spend most of my time at home but I wouldn't say that I am alone...DH is Home most of the time and since we live next to his family I am able to chat with them when needed. I talk to my mom and family members on a fairly regular basis. I'm pretty sure it wasn't pms I was past that point in the month.
When I told DH how I was feeling and that I didn't know why, we just sat on the bench in the garden and enjoyed the night....Thought I had been outside several times that day but there is something about the night that I love and is relaxing.
I will have to pay a little more attention to what actually goes on next time.

A late reply, but...
For myself that sought of thing has usually been associated to someone I have a strong connection with having those same feelings or me picking up on the emotions of someone in the proximity (not necessarily someone I know, or someone in the same building) if they are feeling very strongly at that time. A cleansing and shielding usually helps me deal with it. Hope the reply helps. :hugz:
