An archeological site in South Carolina might be proof that humans have been living in the Americas thousands of years earlier than was previously thought.

by rick 01/07/07 11:07 AM there are other artifacts being found other places in the u.s. that although radio carbon dating has not been done, the style of stone tools being found certainly suggests preclovis occupations elsewhere such as tennessee and indiana. i found them.

I dug this out of the comments to that article. While what the poster is suggest I don't know if its true but I have heard of others.

A few years ago now there was a group who found artifacts in So America that challenged the established time-line of migration via the Bering Straits Land Bridge Theory. And I seem to remember their findings were inline with another group who had found artifacts somewhere either in the upper North East or Canada for Pre-Clovis spear heads. It was either a Nova or Scientific America.

I think it seems highly probable that there were pre-Clovis peoples in North America.
