I thought this would be a good forum to post this in, and i thought some people here might like this site, http://www.jesusinlove.org/, i don't think it's meant in a disrespectful manner (and i hope no one thinks i'm disrespecting Christianity by posting it), but i just found this site, and really like it.

I especially like the way it incorporates LGBT people into Christianity, and the book that's advertised on the site sounds really good (OMG, i must have so many books on my wish list now!).

There's also this book, 'Jesus and the Shamanic tradition of Same-sex love' by Will Roscoe (http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Shamanic-Tradition-Same-Sex-Love/dp/0974638838), i've read extracts, reviews and an interview with the author, and this book is definantly one i want to get, as it sounds really interesting.

Some people might say it's a con, but i don't think so, as it's based on the Secret Gospel of St. Mark (again, people can say this gospel might be fake, but there are a lot of lost gospels and gnostic texts out there....).

Anyway, i just really wanted to get your opinions on it, or if you've read any of the books, what are they like?, personally, when i get some money (although to buy all the stuff i want, i need to win the lottery, that or, get with a really rich guy  ), i want to get these 2 (and a few others as well).

And, again, i really hope no one takes this as an offense to Christianity or Christians, as that is not (and never is) my intention.

I know nothing about the books. The about Kittredge Cherry section on the site seems like a person with a good heart.

But the Jesus part, I feel, was a person not unlike Buddha, a person of compassion. I dont feel Jesus was bias against anyone!

The bible to me is fiction. It was written long after Jesus death.
The only possible truth, to me, that the bible may have is that Jesus was about love and compassion. All the rest isnt worth 2 cents to me.
I personally feel what Jesus tried to teach was all twisted by others.

As for Jesus's personal life, who the heck knows for certain!!!

David, research about the Secret Gospel of Mark, and the letter by Clement of Alexandria. You'll find some curious things. Remember - while Clement denies the words of Carpocrates, he also believes that this Gospel must be kept secret and not revealed. Why?

The bible is not fiction. There is much truth in it, but that information has been tampered with by those who did not understood it. Which makes the bible very dangerous. A book of twisted truth is more dangerous than a book of lies, because when you test the book, somethings in the book may reveal them to be true, and you end up believeing that everything in the book hence must be true.

The main problem was that Jesus's deciples lacked the knowledge to undertand true meanings behind his teachings. It is as if 5 grade students carrying on the knowledge of advanced calculus.

Jesus practiced a very advanced form of magic, (if you decide to call it magic), that of the holy spirit. When you look at his miracles, it seems his knowledge came from India, not Egypt.

Thanks, i will research it more, i find early Christian history really interesting, and there's a few books i want to get about this (the book i mentioned 'Jesus and the Shamanic Tradition of Same Sex love' is definantly one i want to get).

I would be very interested to know how you can support this assertion.
