since they've become so popular lately, i thought we should check out just who guys were. the actual 'Brotherhood' was short lived association of just seven members...

and some good titles...

'The Pre-Raphaelites; Inspiration From the Past' by Terri Hardin
'The Pre-Rafaelites' by Trewin Copplestone (great name!)
'The Art of the Pre-Rafaelites' by Edmund Swinglehurst
'Goblin Market' by Christina Rossetti (this is cool)

and...
'J W Waterhouse' by Anthony Hobson (not PRB, but beautiful pictures)

Thanks, I'm a huge - HUGE - PBR fan.

Of note, there's a play that's been running in NYC about the controversial relationship between John Everett Millais and Effie Ruskin called "The Countess."

The script was written by Gregory Murphy, and I very much recommend it. It's one of the most bizarro romances ever to come out of the Victorian era.

this is interesting too. it's the poem 'Goblin Market' by Christina Rossetti.
a delightfully wicked little fantasy, and quite erotic considering the repressed Victorian era.
this is the text...

There's a great set of illustrations by Arthur Rackham as well. There's a website called Art Passions that has those. I don't know the URL offhand, but if you put that into your search engine it should show up.
