Hmm so today is the second day of 2755 ab urb condita...
This year is also the 2778th year of the Olympic calendar...looks like year 1 of the xth Olympiad...(divide by four).

You are such a good classicist, Calixto, since you know the date ab urbe condita AND the year using the ancient Greeks way of tracking time. Not too many people realize that the Greeks recorded the years according to the Olympic. So the first year of the Olympics would be the First Olympiad; then, four years later, it would be the year of the Second Olmypiad. Hey quick question, do you think that the first Olympics was in 776 B.C.? I always thought that was the first Olympics. However, my sister told me that the first Olympics actually occurred earlier than 776 B.C.
One more question. It is so specific to say that Rome was founded on April 21. Did Livy write that or did many writers agree that Rome was founded on that date?

The first Olympics, as far as I always knew was 776 BCE...the general consensus it seems from the dates given in Year X of Y Olympiad. :)
As far as the founding date of Rome....I always thought it was in March.
But this is not the only place I've seen the date given as 4/21.
My only question about my year estimates, is that I'm not sure if I made it clear whether or not it was inclusive counting (ancient style) or non-inclusive counting (modern style). I'll have to go back and check my math.
