Em hotep, namaste and hi! :hahugh:

So I'd like your opinions. I'm testing a form of astragalomancy (dice divination) I'm devising for my personal use. I want to make sure it's accurate before I go off using it to predict the future, for myself or for others. I've been testing it by doing blind tests - having people send me questions about the past to which I do not know the answer but I do, and then sending them back my answer based on what came out in the dice and requesting that they rate the accuracy on a scale of 1-10 (So far I've gotten an average rating of 87% accurate). Do you have any advice as to how I can further test my system?

So far I know that it can't predict specific events (such as deaths, break ups, new jobs, etc) but it can predict the circumstances that will surround an event, the effect of said event and the general influences on a situation - very much like Tarot.

The system is relatively simple. I throw three dice and use a system of numerology based on research myself and others have done on the Egyptian language to interpret the numbers. I know, I know - 'o noez a woo woo egypshun princess!!!!11oneelevenwtfbbq' - but Egyptian is the only religious culture in which I feel comfortable and while I want this system to be as culturally neutral as possible, I work well with this system of numerology. It's based on the Egyptian vocal form of each number. Like we have the word 'one' for the number 1, so the Egyptians had a corresponding word. I use homonyms and similar words to come up with a numerological meaning. Anyway - I throw three dice and interpret them using this system of numerology, and the pattern in which they fall and the manner as well.

I kind of feel awkward just inventing a system of divination off the top of my head like this - but I really want a method which is useful and close to geomantic divination as opposed to Tarot - which I will be learning, but the form I am learning will require me to directly petition my Gods, which I know will make some uncomfortable. I want to be able to offer divination to as many people as possible - I think it is a useful tool and those who don't have a knack for it or don't have the time to learn a form of divination can really use the insight and help a divination tool and offer.

So basically, what I am looking for from you lovely readers at MW:
1.) How can I better test this system?
2.) Have you ever come up with a system of your own and if so, how did you test it?
3.) Does this system sound too ridiculous?

Thanks. :)

ETA: I'm not really looking to combine my Kemetic Orthodox practices with dice divination. The purpose of me creating this form is so that I have a form of divination to use with those who don't appreciate a Kemetic form of divination. While I know the numerology is very loosely Egyptian, that's only because it's a system that I feel comfortable with, and no other reason. I don't consider this "Egyptian Dice Divination" or anything. It's just mine.

1.) How can I better test this system?
I dunno.
2.) Have you ever come up with a system of your own and if so, how did you test it?
No I haven't.
3.) Does this system sound too ridiculous?
No it doesn't sound ridiculous at all. It sounds awesome!

edited to add: when I've been learning to use a new system I've just done as many readings as possible, often offering to do them online. Practice is wonderful. And always ask for feedback. :)

Sounds very interesting. I am with Lunacie....keep doing practice readings for anyone you can. That is the best way to test and track the results.

BTW, those results are pretty impressive, sounds like you have something there.
