View Full Version : A little dream help?

Hi all,

I normally would research the hell out of this for myself, however, this dream I've been having has been recurring and very prominent. The last time I had a dream this vivid and real was four days before 9/11--so I take them very seriously now. Any help would be appreciated. :) I would also like to preface this by saying that if you don't know who I am by now, I'm a Wiccan. So I was thrown a little by the man figure in this dream.

Ok, here it is:

I'm standing in front of what appears to be a Mayan Temple type of structure--one of those square pyramids with all of the stairs in front. Which is odd because I've never been drawn to this period or area before.

Anyway, I'm standing in front of it and it seems to be set into a lush green area. There are trees and bushes and just tons of greenery around it, even above it, so plush that you can't see through the green. I can only see in front of me and cannot turn to the left or the right and my only path is up the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, at the opening shaped also like a triangle stands a man. I cannot see his face, however, he has long brown hair, a beard and mustache (think Jesus-like but I know it's not him--just used as a description). He is dressed in a long white robe with flowing sleeves and has his hands outstretched to me. It is pitch-black behind him. No light coming from the opening of the Temple.

That's it.

I always wake myself up before I attempt the climb up the stairs because I'm afraid of what this means. I am a psychic myself and have had people that I've known that have passed on give me all sorts of signs lately. I can't seem to get out of this phase. I'm completely blocked when it comes to do a reading for someone else. I never feel alone even when I am and even though this has happened before, having a vivid dream accompany this feeling is a rarity for me. I'm never good with signs that revolve around myself, so again, any help would be greatly appreciated. I think this may be about my grandfather who's 91 now. But really don't have a clue.

Thanks so much to all of you. It's nice to know that there is some place to come for something like this and not have people think you are crazy! LOL

~~MANY BLESSINGS~~

Here is what I see to be the significant imagery and symbolism in the dream, I think.

Temple
Path that only leads to one thing.
Green
Triangle
Man
That is how I am going to break it down to respond.

The Temple could represent esoteric knowledge, secrets, mystery, etc. Since you say that it's an area you have never thought about before I would say that this Temple represents something new for you. Since you are on a path that leads straight to it and all other directions are blocked, I would say you are headed into some new "uncharted territories" so to speak and the fact that you are locked into the path means that you may feel this is inevitable. The fact that everything is green and covered with plantlife makes what is coming more hidden but the fact that you focused on the green could represent the promise that this new ground will be fertile and prosperous for you.

As a fellow Wiccan, I see a great deal of meaning in a male figure being inside a triangle. The triangle represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone. The fact that there is a man inside the trinity with his arms outstretched, seems VERY straightforward to me. With many Wiccans, myself included, there is a tendency to ignore or deny the masculine aspects of the Goddess. This man is encouraging you, I think, to welcome that side back into your practice. Some Wiccans worship a God and a Goddess. I don't but I have to pay careful attention not to ignore her masculinity at the same time.

I think if you start to embrace that masculine side more and explore it in meditation, etc., you will make it up that path and find that your spiritual life is much more enriched for it.

Let me know your thoughts on this please :)

There's also a trinity of God for some, which you might want to look into!

Thank you so much for taking the time to even read my dream!

I do like what you said about the new ground being fertile and prosperous. I'm in extremely dire straits right now as far as my finances and could use all the help I can get!

Honestly, I'm a little fuzzy about the male symbolism--but am completely open to the suggestion. My first reaction to the dream myself was that maybe it was a sort of "light at the end of the tunnel" type of thing because of the white robe against the black background. Which would go hand in hand with what you said about my having focused on the greenery.

I really do want to thank you. Because I typed it out last nite (even though I had written it in my dream journal two nites ago), last nite wast the first time in about 4 days I did NOT have the dream. Maybe that's what it took! lol

Thanks again to both of you!!! :)

Mithrea did an excellent job, and here are some more suggestions. The temple stands for the spiritual side of your nature. Buildings usually represent the dreamer, and the teple might sumbolize what you consider in your mind to be supreme truth. It refers to your core values and things you consider sacred. Your dream might be making you aware of your innate spiritual knowledge and the part of you that is immortal. Temples and other buildings also symbolize mandalas representing the wholeness of the mind and spirit. If the figure is indeed a figure of Christ, it may have personal associations for you. It can also represent perfection of the self, suffering, resurrection or martyrdom. You may be feeling martyred, wronged, or that you deserve or are willing to suffer. This also represents your concept of deity and combined with the temple, could symbolize that you are ready to move to a higher level. Your comparison to Jesus of the figure and the fact that there is only one way up the stairs says to me that you might be struggling with past religious imprints; i.e., the concept that there is more than one path. The greenery surrounding the temple and the fact that you can't see past it tell me that you might be in a situation where you can't see the forest for the trees.

Freyja thanks for your insight!

One thing about dreams, I'm always amazed at how different people have different interpretations. It's like a cosmic ink-blot!

(Maybe that's just me!) LOL :D

:) If you really look at the two interpretations, they're not all that different......just presented to you in different ways!

I'm also amazed as to how different symbols can all represent the same thing.

I'm not sure which of us Lady Starlite is asking to PM ~ I've assumed it was you due to the Chicky part!

Yeah, it was me. :D

I can see what you mean about the two interpretations being similar--when I wrote the response last nite, it was, well, 4am and I was a little blurry-eyed. hehehe

Actually, I was kind of hoping that the guy in the dream would be representing a future relationship! lol I had used the Jesus-type reference to show what he looked like in the dream. I honestly never thought of it being so significant--I don't know why that never occurred to me.

I had figured it might be kind of what you guys said, a direct path to something bigger. A positive change that will prove fertile.

I'm still waiting for the dream where I hit the lottery, pay off my debts and start my life over to happen! LOLOL

I'll keep you posted!!!!!!!

~~Blessings~~
