Hi!

Trying to figure out what would work for a chapter my Uncle is writing.
Any ideas of what would be unusual, eye catching for sale by witches????

What would you want to see?
Potions, candles with certain spells?? Stones?? Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Sand

I have a few ideas for you! How about an old witches' bottle? or an old Ouija board made in the 1600s? or, here's a doozie, John Dee's (Enochian magick) own scrying crystal? Hope these help! :boing:

Maybe you, or your uncle, could take a stroll through a "witch shop" (either a real store or an online shop) and see what catches your eye?

A cauldron, a besom (for sweeping the circle not for riding), incense, crystals, a blank BoS, a chalice, an athame, 7 knob candles, uncrossing oil, a black robe, scrying mirror or scrying bowl, a book by Laurie Cabot ;), dragons blood ink, a quill pen, velum (for writing spells) , a small statue of Pan or Buddha, etc. . . .

I have been looking:hahugh: at the online stores. The fair is a huge one,,,so I was wondering what would be really eye catching.

Thanks!!

Curious is it the years of majical use that makes it a desired object?

Thanks,

Sorry, my bad! I thought your uncle was writing a book on witches and magick. The witch bottle is usually made by hand, it doesn't have to be bought in a store. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia on witch bottles. "The witch bottle is a very old spell device. Its purpose is to draw in and trap evil and negative energy directed at its owner. Folk magick contends that the witch bottle protects against evil spirits and magical attack, and counteracts spells cast by witches." Perhaps a witch would be interested in buying one that was made by a famous witch, or by famous ceremonial magickians such as Dion Fortune or Aleister Crowley.

I hope this answered your question.

John Dee's scrying crystal (the honest-to-goddess real one) is in the Science Museum in London. It was stolen from the museum and then fortunately recovered not long ago.

Other items that would catch my eye at a sale would be really cool, antique and authentic ritual tools like wands, ritual knives, or ritual swords. Or perhaps a chest filled with bottles and jars of old and unusual ingredients for spells.
