View Full Version : Creating my own oracle

Been kicking around the idea of developing my own oracle system, either card or stone. It would be very simple, with basically stick figures and simple figures to represent each concept. I want something very basic, and very clear. These are the concepts that I'm thinking of so far:
Home
Away
Family
Friends
Enemies
Self
Health
Money
Job
Travel
Love
Hate
Near
Far
Up
Down
Peace
War
Arguments
Agreements
Addiction
Obsession
So, can anyone think of anything else to add to this list?

You actually have a good deal covered. You may wish to add
negativity/postive
polarity
sorrow/sadness
joy/despair
empathy
tolerance/intolerance
Not sure why, but when I read your list these came to mind as helpful augmentations to the others. Though I am thinking that you would use the oracle as multi. Like tarot. So if not the way you plan on using your oracle then they might not be helpful additions at all.
Good luck! It sounds very intriguing what you are doing. =)

I created my own oracle system (on my website if you want to look)
What I would say about your list is, they all seem to have fairly specific tangible meanings, which may make for confusing readings, particularly when asking specific questions. All I can say is make up some prototypes and try them out. Then refine if you need to.

Just adding to my last post.
You are obviously being drawn to do this for some reason. Stick with it. Will you make them freely available? They could be quite interesting.
