Hello all. I'm a begginner with tea leaves and usually I'm pretty good with the tarot, especially if it's with me that way I can relate things and string them together better.

But tea leaves are just so confusing.

I've visited a couple of different websites and everything says something different about where things are in relation to the cup (left side past, right side present, vice versa, top lucky, bottom unlucky, top present, bottom future, middle past, blah blah blah), and I'm getting different meanings for symbols. I'm just having a hard time all around.

I mean the symbols aren't really that much of a problem, but I know that there is some sort of past present location for the cup I just can't figure it out.

Like the last reading I just did was because my friend wants me to go out with this friend of hers who's just coming out of a relationship. but I'm just not sure that I should waste my energy on him or not.

Handle facing me, to the left I have a bird with wings spread right on the rim across from a frog.

Right, it goes down in a straight line, butterfly, rooster, tree limb, ice cream cone and rose and then a little heart and leads down to a small little man underneath an umbrella on the bottom......What the hell?

I look at the cup as being divided in thirds,
the bottom is the past, middle is present and top is future.

But don't be afraid to go against the grain of what is said.
Do what feels right.

I hope it's made clear to you soon.

Thank you ^_^

I've been practicing on myself and my friends and have gotten a little better with it. Especially since we all know our pasts and things that have happened in our present, when the symbols are clarified it's kind of easy to figure where things go where.

I've been tending to go to with either of the two ways to divide the cup (top, middle and bottom or left and right) depending on where the symbols are in relation to each other and such.

I still have loads of practicing to go though.
