I wrote my own guided mediation and then taped it to meditate with. It seemed to go well, although I hate hearing my own voice. :awilly:

Has anyone else tried this and have you had success with it?

Thanks,

Yes very much so, I have done them for me and for students.

I suggest a deeper and longer part of getting to the meditation to get over hearing your own voice.

Also if you can not then have a pal read it for you :)

I've done it before... sometimes I just read a guided meditation over and over again until it sticks in my mind and then just do it from memory.

*but I was always into acting so memorizing things comes easily to me.

Thanks for the replies. Funny, both the things you touched on Hope and TWM, I was going to write about and changed my mind. It was too personal for someone else to read it for me, but I did consider it and will in the future for just plain old meditation. And I have gone over it in my head many times, but thought it finally needed to be done with actual guidance.

It worked well, I think. Time will tell.

Thanks again,

I tried this a long time ago.. I think I was 13? I couldn't understand myself (lol squeaky voice), and I was never really good at guided meditations anyway..!

Yes, I actually went into recording studio and recorded 2 meditations and my working partner at the time was going to record the same 2 but, obviously, with a male voice.

I trance better to a male voice--because my teachers have somehow always been male... and that's what I was used to.

I listened to myself on that CD (given as a gift to the other camp intensive students) and have actually been able to get into once I get past the fact that's my voice.

I think I might give this a go again myself.

Thanks for planting the idea in my brain!

I think I remember talking about this. I have found too, I do better with males. A male taught the Reiki Master class and we did so much guided meditation that weekend and I did seem to get deeper into it. Although, I do LIKE your voice and I know would enjoy your guided meditations.

Off the subject Mrs. Bacon and I don't mean to derail my own thread, please remind me the significance of Dragon Fly’s, I am being stalked.

Thanks!

Mr. Bacon here... dragonflies stalking you means you must smell like mosquito larvae.

:rotfl:

Yeah, I kill myself... :hehehehe:

They are symbols of magic around you (good stuff); their irridescent wings represent illusion, such as the tricks of light & eye at twilight, the time 'twixt & 'tween.

It's good to be stalked by dragonflies, Li'l Bit... unless you're a mosquito larva, then you're dead meat... :awilly:

Some of this is from Ted Andrews Animal Speak

Illusion, the Power of Light

Dragonfly is the power of light.
The dragonfly inhabits two realms: air and water
and the influence of both these elements will be felt by Dragonfly people.
They will be emotional and passionate
during their early years (the influence of water)
and more balanced with greater mental clarity
and control in as they mature (the influence of air).

Dragonfly is the essence of the winds of change,
the messages of wisdom and enlightenment; and the communication from the elemental world.
Dragonfly medicine beckons you to seek out the parts of your habits which need changing.
Call on Dragonfly to guide you through the mists of illusion to the pathway of transformation.
The number 2 is important to Dragonfly,
so think in terms of two year periods when you begin a change.
Dragonfly brings the light and color of transformation into your life.

Basically--the long version of what Mr. Bacon said.

Thanks for sharing this, very meaningful right now, actually.
