This is an interesting read. (to me)

http://www.ptialaska.net/~swampy/illuminati/cfr_1.html

At first I read the beginning and it sounded ok, but when I finished the article I saw it came from an unfocused, undocumented source, with obvious racism thrown in.

I did find the beginning part interesting, as it correlated with other articles about the Illuminati that I have read. Money is power and these people have it. Use this article for information purposes. Take what you like and chuck the rest.

I am concerned. If I get my MBA in Finance (as I plan to) and then become a jewish banker, do you think this will lead to my eventual formal recruitment into the bavarian illuminati? I had always assumed that my membership would be and always remain honorary, but now....

If, after several centuries of trying, they still haven't taken over the world, I wouldn't be worried.

Perhaps they are waiting for the chosen one, just like the Sith waited for Anakin Skywalker.

Is their leader a really short, pale guy named Brain?

Maybe they put a nuclear type weapon underneath the Vatican City and it is set to explode in 24 hours while the Cardinals are still voting for a new pope...Wait a minute, they just elected one a few weeks ago. Maybe when he dies then.

What you guys don't know is that I'm actually a MEMBER of the Illuminati. We're no longer in Bavaria. We're based in St. Petersburg at the moment, but this changes. It's a bit like the Rotary Club.

And now that you've told us you'll have to kill us.

I read Da Vinci Code first and it's kind of disappointing how similar they are.

Yeah, that's true. I read Da Vinci Code first too. I love that one even more. I do love all the art references in those books.

Sorry we are a little off topic.......my bad!

Isn't that what happens every time a thread has more than 5 responses? Or sometimes more than 0.

*cough* Illuminatus! Trilogy, anyone??
Of course people think that the Illuminati is in control of the music business, but then again, Beethoven was one of their first members.

The illuminati do not exist. We have never existed. Do not look for us.

I think the most telling thing about the whole illuminati theory "thing" is how, when Robert Anton Wilson wrote a humor book about the illuminati theory, some of the ideas he jokingly came up with were later incorporated into theories by actual conspiracy theorists. What does this say?

This said, I think the best site for illuminati/new world order material is http://cuttingedge.org/. And by "best" I mean from a humor perspective. The places where they start trying to find the number 333 in everything that George W. Bush does so they can insist it's a secret Illuminati code is just hilarious. (They, incidentally, also have some interesting theories about Steve Jackson Game's "illuminati" humorous card game)

Sorry to tell you folks who believe in the Illuminati conspiracy but they don't exist anymore. They only existed briefly in the 18th century as society dedicated to ridding the world of Monarchy and increasing scientific progress. They were briefly aligned with the Freemasons who approved of their call for scientific progress but the Freemasons as whole disagreed with the Illuminati's anti-royalist stance.
