View Full Version : Weekly Divination - One tiny piece

Many times when people are doing their own reading, or are asked to do a reading for another they are asked to look at one tiny piece.

Can you tell me will I make more money this year?

Does he really love me?

And a yes/no really does not "read/provide" the answer.

For example let's let YES be the response to both of the above questions.

Yes -- You will make more money this year BUT not till Fall, looks like you will have a desert time through the summer and a BIG change and then make more then before.

A yes response, is not going to help much if that is all you got and you are in the desert part of the reading.

Or Yes - He really does love you, but he is married, was less then honest about the status of that relationship and he feels held hostage in it; because every time he thinks of leaving she attempts suicide.

(In case you are wondering both are real life true examples).

I personally will not do yes/no type readings for people, I say there is a difference in what I can do and in what I will do....

How about YOU?

Thoughts? Even an opportunity here to say wow hope I do not agree at all and here is why..

(just like to point out that option is available EVERY time! LOL)

Nope I don't deal in 'yes' and 'no'
When doing any kind of reading for people things can change quickly.
Or stay stagnant for months or years on end.

Usually I'll do a spread (runes, tarot, whatever) that will show time frames, choices, obstacles, events and the outcome.

If someone is set on getting a 'yes' or 'no' answer I just politely decline because sometimes things run deeper than they seem to. (as in Hope's examples above).

Absolutely, I agree. I don't think that there are simple answers to anything.

Even if the spread is a 3 card where all upright means yes & all reversed means no, I'm still looking at the acutal cards to find qualifiers. LOL

No simple answer. Unless using a pendulum.

Besides the yes or no may well be dependent upon what the querant chooses to do.

Yes, you will make more money in the Fall IF you decide to take this job offer.

Me thinks I can learn to be polite for TWM, cause she is so much nicer then me :)

And Lisa LOL! I know, me too -- well this means yes because ....

Honestly to me I think people want to see some "proof" of some kind from you when they are saying tell me one quick thing ... more like a test

I agree with the pack here. I don't do yes/no answers for readings because methods of divination are rarely that clear-cut. When people ask for answers like that, I think its because they assume that with divination, we can see the answer and then explain things further though. I don't think when someone asks "Does he love me," that they would be satisfied if we simply answered "yes" and then waited for the next question. They would wonder what "the rest" of the answer was, although they only asked a very narrow question!

<mussing> Again from job training.

Open-ended questions are the best. Sometimes you have to gently direct the querant to open-ended questions. Especially, if they aren't sure what they are looking for.

Which is, perhaps, another topic completely.

It is so easy to fall into close ended questions. You don't even realize how much you are limiting the information when you do that.
