View Full Version : dumb animals or dumb spell?

This is probably the wierdest result I've ever gotten from a spell. About 2 months ago on the full moon I created my own version of a witch bottle for prosperity. I placed it in the ground next to our front porch and let it sit there for a full moon period and a day, then I cast it into the nearby creek to seal the spell.
The next day I walked out our front door to find that a duck had laid 4 eggs on the opposite side of our porch in the corrosponding spot to where the bottle had been placed. The duck later abandoned the eggs. It probably realized that our front door was just not a good place to hatch ducklings.
Now, about a full moon period after that, we have a turtle trying to lay eggs on the OTHER side of the porch. It keeps trying to dig holes in solid clay!
So if you ever need a spell to attract dumb animals and the wrong manifestation of prosperity, give me a call.

Hiya I just moved this to M&R because I think spell stuff goes here.
hehe wrong manifestation of prosperity may be right :)
I'm interested to know what correspondences you used in your witch bottle to get that kind of result? :D

Artemis,
call me Koo Koo if you want, but I do believe that sometimes when we do a spell, the Goddess will give us a sign that she will grant what we ask!
I see the Duck laying the eggs, and the turtle as a symbol of abundance, and new birth!
I am seeing this as a good omen! I would "Stay tuned" and see what other gifts come your way!

While I was thinking the same thing as Xander that it is a sign or message, I am also curious like Myst to find out what you used. :)

I was kind of thinking that's what she meant by "wrong manifestation of prosperity" - as in the creatures were showing that there was prosperity energy there. But then again maybe the sign is like the duck choosing a bad place to lay or the turtle trying desperately in clay - ie. you're looking for prosperity in the wrong places.

Here's the list of supplies I used in the (green) bottle:
rice
honey
salt
then I used a green candle during the ritual "bottle set-up" as well. (can you tell I'm a little computer oriented? :D)

Okay I found the glitch. When I was thinking about the ingredients for the bottle, I had in mind the series of a plant growing. The salt was the earth, the rice was the seed(s) and the honey was the rain. When I put the rice into the bottle I said:
Pure and shining thing of earth
lend your aid to foster birth.
Oops. :crylaugh: 80 Maybe 'd better rethink that line. :D But the question is: should I let the spell run its course, or end it?

Okay Myst. I misunderstood. That was very insightful :D
Artemis, I think you have to let it run it's course. Unless you can retreive it from the creek ;)

However.. Even if the results were not what you are looking for think of the benefits.
If you have animals that you want to help with getting pregnant, this is the spell to use.

But I also want to add that you have to be very, very careful with the words you choose as I believe the words you used in this spell could also encourage pregnancy in yourself--not just animals. :)

Call me inexperienced but.. what exactly -is- a witch bottle and how do you make it?

Just a bottle you stuff with things to a desired end.
Originally and usually they were used for protection, and thus filled with rusty nails, broken glass, urine, and other sharp objects, or with random ends of threads to entangle enemies.

See, as Mithrea suggested, that sounds more like a fertility spell. Be careful if you don't want to end up pregnant :) The duck and the turtle may be a warning.

I highly doubt that I will get pregnant seeing that I'm only 17 and boys are at the bottom of my priority list right now. But I think the spell is getting a little out of hand. Today my family walked out the door to discover two swallows' nests under the eves of our house. And to answer your question Mithrea, no, unfortunately I can't retrive it from the creek. I might just have to see what happens. But if this keeps up I might have a regular Noah's ark going!

I would love to know how this spell panned out. Sure eggs a plenty can be a good sign, but if Mom decides to abandon them, that may not be such a good thing.
