an annoying newbie post

yeah yeah, i'm sure you all hate these, but i'm gonna go ahead and do it anyway. "annoying newbie post"

i just joined today, (duh), though i've been lurking around here for a few days, reading threads and just kind of seeing what its about. (obviously it's a pagan community..i never said i wasn't slow). anyway, i'm an athiest, or so i thought, but all my life i've agreed with the wiccan culture. i wanted to learn more about it so i figured that joining here would help me understand better. i know i can't truly be athiest because i believe in something but i'm not sure what. or maybe i am, i dunno.

i guess i'm just asking anyone that would bother to take the time to teach me a little bit, if you would, i'd love it.

Another term you might've heard of is agnostic. It's like atheist but not quite - in this situation it means that you believe there could be a God but it hasn't been proven to you, basically.

You are welcome to ask questions here. In short we're a Pagan board and most of us are Pagans; that means most of us follow a religion that isn't strictly Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, and often our religion stresses continuous learning, respect for others, and respecting nature. Most of us are Wiccan, Witches, Shamans, Druids, etc. or just call ourselves Pagan and don't have a set path or tradition. Each of us has our own idea of who or what God is (as you can read about in Gods and Goddesses and Theology & Philosophy)... The only rule here is to respect eachother and each path, and of course we keep things PG rated for our younger members. :)

i went through one really weird time period, (not so weird now) where i was really into mythology and reading about it, i once told my mom that it was probably a goddess, not a god and she went nuts. but i know my main section will probably be goddesses and gods.

agnostic sounds like me..my, uh, (boyfriend? we havent really been given a title) is athiest and i see a difference between the two.
