View Full Version : Psychic Readings

I have had many readings done over the years and with the exception of one, I have been completely unimpressed. The one that I was actually impressed with made me really think that some people really do have the gift, but not enough to leave me feeling it definitively. I'm just wondering if anybody has had readings that were so accurate and insightful there was no doubt in your mind the person was truly gifted and could see things? I would like to get a reading someday that makes me feel confident that it is indeed possible to access information psychically but so far I tend to be somewhat skeptical even though I lean toward believing it.

Yes I have had many quality readings, and I have also had a few that made me say umm SCAM artist!
The keys tend to be the difference in asking for feedback, and asking for you to tell an entire story and then they parrot it back (often adding some soap opera LOL).
You should not need to do more then state a SIMPLE question to a reader like:
I am considering a new relationship. or relationship
I am moving to Paris. or a move
Then you have to be OPEN to actually listen and hear the reading. That means you get to be a skeptic BUT you have to be willing to listen and hear what is said and consider that it could be true. For example:
looks like some travel in the next 3 months -- no I am not traveling, NO I do not travel -- I will not travel.
Do you REALLY KNOW that no one you love will die and you will head to a funeral?
Do you REALLY KNOW that your boss will not need to send you to a different city for a training?
Do you REALLY KNOW?
Or someone says there are some small changes coming to you, and you say well yeah everyone has small changes all of the time, instead of listening and hearing and waiting to see how does that possibly APPLY to my situation, because that can be a BIG clue that a small change is what leads you to the right part of your path.
Of course the BEST answer may well be you work on yourself. You learn to ground well and to access your own inner tools, for many people putting in the work and getting their own messages is what solidifies it in their mind. Just remember just like get rich quick schemes do not work, energy work is not something that happens in 30 minutes either :)

I've had one, it's lasted most of this year ;) - thanks M.
Seriously, I do think there are a lot of people out there who claim to be psychic but in actual fact are only half "open" and not actually working clearly and consistently with spirit. Conversely, there are many people out there who are properly psychic who actually either don't know it or do and don't practice as "psychics" or mediums. I had a real opening from a lovely lady who mostly did "spiritual counselling", but again I felt disappointed when she was really unable to actually tell me much during our three hour sessions together other than confirm things I already knew and tell me to "wait and see, it will happen, don't worry". It did but I got frantic and started to work with spirit and spiritualism myself and ended up meeting M along the way, thus actually self-reading. The night I abandoned getting readings done myself was the night I discovered my own guides and spirit help through a pendulum and a ouija board (properly cleansed, balanced and approached in a spirit of serious and earnest inquiry, which meant that I was able to get proper use out of it and not just the odd evil spirit telling me we'd all die horribly), and thus I am actually sceptical of people who read through websites.
Jan helped me to open up with working with spirit, but most of us who get readings done find it frustrating that psychics often work with vague timetables and don't have all the answers at their fingertips, thus I think we often expect too much from people. For example, M once astrally projected himself into a session I had with a local healer who happened to be a contemporary of his at school (he says the chances of that happening are very small but God obviously sent her to me :)) - and I felt his hand on my foot. The healer knew he was in the room BUT only told me we had "a visitor" when I remarked that there was a third hand on my foot! It is things like this that give psychics a bad name, because ironically we all want to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth - but sometimes, like Tom Cruise in "Top Gun", we just can't handle it.
I knew the truth about M last year through dreams and through spirit warnings from him - but if I had known the realities of what was actually going on and to him of all people - a senior government and opposition politician in the UK - I would have been shocked and lost faith in the system as a whole. He wanted to tell me what was going on when the time was right for me to know. Not to have had peace of mind in 2006 was awkward and made me feel lost and rudderless, but now when it is mostly over and it was safer to meet and discuss these things in 2007 it is a relief that I didn't know what was going on, particularly since it could have put me, him and the rest of the 60 million people in the United Kingdom at serious risk of political collapse.
M tells me there are professions that are always "on" but don't (as yet) admit to it, such as government and politics, where people have to be able to be guided through the morass of good and bad decisions taken. As a matter of course these people treat psychic awareness as part and parcel of everyday life so to them it is nothing special. I think that people in general therefore have an inflated view of what psychic talent really is, and do not understand the limitations involved in scrying and the "need to know only" basis on which spiritualism tends to work. Therefore if I was giving readings I would help people to open up themselves and therefore I think I would come across as a fraud...so that is why I don't want to go into business as a healer.

Perhaps you're the one with the psychic ability of reading minds as I was JUST thinking the very same thing and wanted to ask it here.
I've had really great readings when it came to people using tarot or runes, or other things etc. When it came to just pure reliance on visions and other abilities...really unimpressed. I was realllly open to them because i had forked out near $50. I was actively trying to convince myself that i everything they said was gold and I was getting my money's worth . Well....the events never happened. Those times in my life have passed and gone, and they never really answered my questions anyway.
Í know that true psychic ability exists. I've had moments myself were I've predicted things. I can imagine other people being much more gifted. It's just that when psychics are charging close to $50+ per half hour here, I really can not afford to trust anyone atm.

The topic tends to come up every so often as more and more people are looking for psychic help, don't get it, and join MW to get real help and to sound off about it! (Same here in L's case, though M has been psychic since he was a baby, which was a nightmare for him.)

Hi Labyrinth,
had same experience here with psychic readers. To date Ive only met one psychic reader who gave me information that I had never told anyone else...much less this individual. This person was able to give me actual names of specific individuals with whom I had karma, but had little or no idea who these people were.
Over the years I have found out that most "psychics" in my local holistic community don't have smidge of psychic ability at all. The images that most see are really mind's eye visions and few if any have actual clairvoyance.... (that is .. the ability to see energies and spirits with one's physical eyes)...... OR clairaudience (the ability to hear spirit voices with the physical ear)..... most "channellers" receive information in the form of flashing images in their mind.....:P
The only practitioner whom I managed to witness whom I think was really able to connect with and receieve messages from the spirit world, was a Chinese spirit medium or "Tang Ki" whose possession by a deity was actually quite frightening.
So yes, while I believe there are some rare few who have real psychic ability or connection with the spirit world, they are hard to locate especially given the vast plethora of "psychics" available today.
