View Full Version : Weekly Divination ~ What about the moon?
Hope
October 29th, 2007, 01:57 PM
This weeks discussion is about divination that involves the moon.
What about when it is covered with clouds and peeking out?
What about when there is a red tinge around the moon?
What about when there is one cloud covering a percentage of the moon?
What about the dark or new moon? is that different then the full?
Waxing with clouds different then wanning with clouds?
And even if you do not believe or practice it, what have you heard??

This weeks discussion is about divination that involves the moon.
Full or waxing/waning?
What about when it is covered with clouds and peeking out?
One should look at the expression in the face for this. Someone is hidden or hiding from you. The moon has a very personable face, so I always link it with people I know or think to be against me and their movements. (I'm paranoid, but then you have to be in my line of work :().
What about when there is a red tinge around the moon?
Labour are going to win the election! Seriously, a year before they did so last time, in May 2004, we had a blood-red moon partially eclipsed by a blue shadow (when I saw it at twilight, that is). A year later Labour lost half of their majority but stayed in power...no thanks to me!
What about when there is one cloud covering a percentage of the moon?
Again, similar to the above. One cloud usually says to me that things are changing for the better, because the clouds are moving back and exposing the bad elements in life clear enough for me to see where they are coming from. Even psychics have trouble sometimes distinguishing their subconscious knee-jerk-reactions about things from reality.
What about the dark or new moon? is that different then the full?
There are a lot of different divinatory principles associated with the sign in which the moon is waxing or waning. The Moon Oracle by Caroline Smith and John Astrop gives a lot of very accurate readings, though sometimes so subtle you don't notice them.
Waxing with clouds different then waning with clouds?
Again, it is what floats your subconscious boat. I often see things projected onto the moon itself; I've even seen a rainbow in the haze around the moon on more than one occasion which for me is like Noah seeing the rainbow to tell him the storm has passed and better times are on their way.

although I am drawn to the moon I have never done any divination with it,
nor looked into what it may mean.
I do consider certain stars or planets to be signs though,
for me seeing Sirius - the dog star - always means big changes and hope,
like The Star in tarot.
Guess I'll be doing some research Hope!

Ok well many people apply the
red sky at night sailors delight, red sky at dawn sailors bewarned
i have heard many folks tell that for moon watching too
also using the moon as the top of it north, the bottom of it south, the right side the west and the east side the left side
so asking a questoin gazing up and if there is a direction covered, that is either the side that is not to go to the answer is not from there
or apply the directions to the element so the answer is grounding, instead of fire/passion
that help anyone get started or jog anything?

Uhm clouds over the moon mean it is a cloudy night....
Tinges of color about the moon's aura may well equal atmospheric garbage like smoke from fires and so on.

hehehe.
I totally learned the 'red sky at night, sailors delight. red sky in morning, sailors take warning'
I think I'll start watching the moon and see if I can pick anything up.
