My right hand is the hand I use all the time. Well my head line is almost touching the heart line, and it's really short. I have posted a link of a quick drawing to show what I mean:

What does that mean exactly? Is it bad? I don't have a scanner so I can't make a hand print.

I'm not a palmist, but they often work, as do other psychic fortune tellers, using the hand as a screen to project imagery onto; that is a sign of an upwards curve for you and a need to feel that you have attained lift-off. If you are doing this for a static life-time's fortune, then the person is definitely going to be a high-flyer; if you are someone who reads palms to see what the immediate future holds then this person is at the moment where the aeroplane has lifted its wheels up into the undercarriage and attained level flight :). Or so to speak.

PS how do you get those little mood icons? PM me if you know because I don't often check back to these kind of threads where I make a statement then leave.

I've dabbled in palmistry,

More or less it means that for most of your life you will base decisions and directions on how your heart feels. Later in life (quite possibly when you enter a career you enjoy) your decision making will be more balanced between logic and emotion.
Not a bad thing at all honey.

And the lines may change as life events occur, palmistry is fascinating, although not foolproof.

Yes, that is definitely true. I do make decisions with my heart instead of mind most of the time. I'm trying to stop that because it has gotten me into trouble. I heard once that it meant mental illnesses if the heart line was short so I wanted to make sure. On my left hand it's long and slopes downwards. There is actually more lines on my left hand then my right hand and I use my right hand the most.

"Mental illness" shouldn't in my opinion be referred to as such. This might be where the saying "the first sign of madness is looking for hairs on the palms of your hands" - it is absolute nonsense that many people have any kind of illness that can't be solved with a bit of love and understanding of their needs and opinions rather than force-fed drugs until they really do literally lose their minds, souls and spirits through the mind being treated as a physical machine rather than a precious energy that animates each and every one of us. "Punitive medicine" - telling, essentially, someone with different opinions that they are mad and mentally ill - seems to still be practiced even in this country, if my fiancee's experiences are anything to go by.

Making decisions based on your heart is not a bad thing to do but make sure you are fully grounded in reality and spirituality before losing control. A card for you - Ixchel the Medicine Woman (using Doreen Virtue's Goddess cards even as I list them on eBay; even the card with Athena and her Wol can't stop me selling them, a good example of not letting my gut feelings run away with our need to get rid of a bit of physical clutter here!) suggests you are a "channel for Divine healing power" and are taking life at close to the legal limit. Power like this can be controlled, and you possibly need to control it properly (and that is why you think you might have a mental illness) but once you are grounded, the lightning around Ixchel might be given a focus and a direction that it - and you - currently lack.

PS - Hope - if you're reading, thanks for the hint about the mood icons. I kept wondering what "Change Mood" meant and assumed it was to do with the forum skin or something like that.

never heard reference to mental illness being reflected by the heart line myself,
besides, the best judge of that is a trained physician.
and having troubles is nothing to be ashamed of.

Your left hand (or less dominant hand) shows the potential, all the paths you might have taken, what you were born to do.
Your right hand (or dominant hand) shows the choices you are making and reflects them in the lines there.

you may have chosen a simpler life, or perhaps haven't made some of the steps shown on your left hand yet.
