Ours too...we found these really big ones that burn for hours and oddly enough, we found them at our local grocery store. So we load up every time we go shopping. They have some excellent scents.

We have found inscense sticks at a local chain of dollar stores (everything is a dollar).

We buy up the stock from all three stores in our area. I have inscense coming out of my ears!

I always thought you could never have enough inscense... boy was I wrong!

My little sister made a comment one time that something of hers that had been left at my house smelled like "your house". I was a little concerned until she clarified that that was not a bad thing...just smells like a insence shop.

As Mol lights one up in Eaglewolfs honor right now!

Dragonsblood is deffinitely my favorite, Sandalwood being a close second, with Vanilla coming in third.

I've never really liked the smell of Patchouli (sp?). I don't know why. My sister loves it though.

At the Smoker Friendly cigarette store here in town, they sell these MASSIVE sticks of incense for like 30 cents. My favorites of those are Obsession for Men (smells just like the cologne) and Cinammon.

I got a stick of Apple Spice one time, when I was in PA. Maybe it was just the store I bought it from, but when I burned it, it smelled like dirt. yuck.

Sandalwood and rose are favorites for home use.

There is one we use in church called "roman" that has an incredible citrus/floral bouquet. I love it's smell even when it isn't burning.

My favorite burner is a bronze Buddha that my dad brought back from Japan just after WWII.

My number ones are Sandalwood and Cedar. (Also something called Cedar Forest that I picked up at a Gathering.) My fiance's daughter (8) likes Dragon's Blood alot, so that gets burned in the living room most frequently.

I don't really have a favorite incense.... Vanilla is my old stand-by when it comes to smells. I'm more of an oils girl myself, though. I find it a little harder to breathe when the room is so full of smoke. It's usually okay as long as I open a window... I'm babbling now. Sorry.

Cedar and sage, sandalwood, or frankincense. (I have to be careful who I buy from. I thought for the longest time I was allergic to frankincense, but it turned out the incense had been bought from one of those street vendorw who uses substandard ingredients and I was actually allergic to the grass they'd used for the stick!)

probably nag champa, sandle wood, and frankinsense (the resin)
for oils, i have this awsome gardenia oil that i dump all over my lightbulbs. Its almost worth the risk of fire....

as for the cannabis---well---as long as you take the seeds out. otherwise it smells like your burning a used diaper.

I bought a small box with three different incenses once... There were sticks of cinnamon, and cones of rose and apple. The rose and apple incenses were just nasty - yuck! - but I totally LOVE the cinnamon incense!!! :D

I like sandlewood and patchouli. At the metaphysical bookstore I jsut found, they sell some cool incense sticks--they have images in them--Goddess, Ying-Yang, pentacle and others. When the stick burn, the ash stays together and the image on the stick in in the ash. It falls into one piece instead of the smaller pieces that sticks usually do. I'm planning on getting some real soon...

hi-

Nag Champa's hard to beat, but in the fall I like to just get a few fallen white pine needles (easy to identify with 5 needles per cluster, not 2), and burn them instead. Of course, this has to be done safely, but the smell reminds me of fall.

I found it rather hard to read as well. Nice to know it wasn't only me.

Is it the smoke that gets to your kids? If that is the case, perhaps you could get an oil burner and use essential oils/fragrance oils. They don't smoke or anything. Just a little water, a drop or two of oil and a tealight candle...then you've got the scent without the smoke. I had a friend who had that problem as well.

Just a suggestion.

to the nature of the work, it's tough to beat Nag Champa for
more mundane affairs.
