I could use a little energy...

Yesterday my husband and I were in a car accident. The other driver admited fault, but because we were turning left when it happened, we're legally liable. I'm pretty sure that my Jeep (the one my husband bought me for a present only a year and a half ago - it only had 30,000 km on it) is totaled. :(

We're alright...my hubby has some bruises and marks from the air bag...I had slight air bag burns on two knuckles of my left hand. The kids weren't with us, thank goddess.

Anyway, we're down to a rental that my insurance company pays for, and my husband's car which is currently in need of a new alternator. I don't know how long I'll have the rental for...the insurance office is closed until the new year.

My life doesn't happen without a car, so I could really use some energy to get the insurance cheque quickly so I can pay off my jeep (it was a lease) and get a new one so I can drive my son to play school and get groceries and such.

K, I'm done rambling. Thanks for your support. :)

I'm so sorry you have gone through this. I have, too, so I can empathize and understand. I'm glad you and your husband weren't hurt badly and the kids weren't there.

Sadly, insurance companies aren't generous with the rental cars, so they don't last long. They assess the value of your vehicle at the time of your accident and that's about all you get to buy another one. I hope that means you'll be able to find another vehicle soon. (((hugs)))

Well, we found out that my insurance pays for $1000 of the rental, and at $36 a day that means we'll have a rental for 4 weeks. Hopefully that's long enough to get everything sorted out. No word yet on if the jeep is salvagable.
