Benzoin?

Hiya all!
Ive got a little questions for you all..
I bought a 10ml bottle of Benzoin Aromatherapy Oil some time ago now and havent been able to use it ~ Loved using it in my massage class last year!
I cant use it because I wont come out of the damn bottle!! Ive tried everything ~ sticking a needle in it to pull some out, shaking vigouressly, leaving in standing on its head for hours ~ but no it wont budge and I need it to come out to use it!!! Especially now Im getting interested in making my own incenses..
Please, please, please can anyone tell me how to get the stubborn oil out of the bottle and liquify it so that I can use it in massage and in an incense? Can I heat it up? or does this destroy its properties?

Hi Silver Venus,

Try heating it VERY gently in a hot water bath. Don't let the bottle fall in the water. Heat the water until almost boiling & take it off the stove. Let the bottle sit about 1/2 hour or so. Even then, it will take a very LONG time for the drops to come out. Liquid Benzoin is a liquid resin & they move very slowly. Sometimes I would sit there with my arm propped up holding the bottle & reading a book! :) Smells great, though!

Thanks so much!! I actually thought that was probally the only way but just wanted to check thats it ok to heat up! I'll try in tonight and will be using it for incenses as well as burning and hopefully (if it thins enough) massage oil.
I love its fragrance too and used it in my massage class allot ~ just dont know where my teacher got it from and she has actually going round Africa at the moment so I cant contact her.

Thanks for the advice Wildchild ~ it worked!! :D
I forgot to say yesterday but I followed your instructions over the weekend and my Benzoin melted easily!! Ive used it in massage and to incense ~ although the incense doesnt burn that well over charcoal Im sure it will over a fire! Mmm I love the smell of Benzoin ~ Im so happy I eventually got it out of the bottle!
