This is a place for people to share their original and/or favorite prayers, chants, invocations, and mantras.
"Obsience to Her
Who is Pure Being, Consciousness, Bliss.
As Power,
Who Exists in the Forms of Time and Space,
And All That is Therein,
Who is the Divine Illuminatrix in All Beings."
- A Tantric Prayer
"Mighty, majestic, and radiant,
You shine brilliantly in the evening,
You brighten the day at dawn,
You stand in the heavens like the sun and the moon,
Your wonders are known both above and below,
To the greatness of the Holy Priestess of Heaven,
To you, Inanna, I sing!"
- Diane Wolkstein, Inanna (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060908548/gardendigest)
"Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with Thee,
Blessed are Thou, Amongst Women,
And Blessed in the Fruit of thy Womb, Jesus;
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now, and at the hour of our death,
Amen."
- The Hail Mary Prayer, Roman Catholic Church
"Oh Goddess, Source of Gods and Mortals,
All-Fertile, All-Destroying Gaia,
Mother of All, Who brings forth the bounteous fruits and flowers,
All variety, Maiden who anchors the eternal world in our own,
Immortal, Blessed, crowned with every grace,
Deep bosomed Earth, sweet plains and fields fragrant grasses in the nurturing rains,
Around you fly the beauteous stars, eternal and divine,
Come, Blessed Goddess, and hear the prayers of Your children,
And make the increase of the fruits and grains your constant care,
With the fertile seasons Your handmaidens,
Draw near, and bless your supplicants."
- Orphic Hym to Gaia, Translated by Virginia Stewart.

This is an unique take on the traditional bedtime prayer for kids.
As I lay here snuggled in bed
Pillow tucked beneath my head
Maiden bring me joyful dreams
mother bring me peace serene.
Wised crone, watch over me
Until the light of dawn I see
And let me wake up safe and sound
Each day, to this earth i am bound

ah man, i was thinking of starting a thread like this, but you beat me to it! lol:) Here is a Goddess prayer that i really love.
The Charge of the Dark Goddess 2
by Lynne O' Connor (im pretty sure this is the person who wrote it)
Wisdom and empowerment are the gifts of the Dark Goddess of Transformation. She is known to us as Kali, Hecate, Cerridwen, Lilith, Persephone, Fata, Morgana, Ereshkigal, Arianhrod, Durga, Inanna, Tiamat, and by a million, million other names:
Hear me child, and know Me for who I am. I have been with you since you were born, and I will stay with you until you return to Me at the final dusk.
Iam the passionate and seductive lover who inspires the poet to dream. I am the One who calls to you at the end of your journey. After the day is done, My children find thier blessed rest in my embrace.
I am the womb from which all things are born.
I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their breasts to die and be reborn to the Whole.
I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, The Weaver of Time. the Teacher of Mysteries. I snip the threads that bring my children home to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and drink the blood of the heartless. Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover true beauty, strength, and courage.
I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.
I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself to my embrace and overcome.
I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.
I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together in a rainbow of union.
I am the velvet depths of the night sky, the swirling mists of midnight, shrouded in mystery.
I am the chrysalis in which you will face that which terrifies you and from which you will blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at the crossroads, and you shall be transformed, for once you look upon my face, there is no return.
I am the fire that kisses the shackles away. I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know each other in Truth. I am the web which connects all things.
I am the healer of wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in their time. I make th weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised. I am justice tempered with mercy.
Most importantly child, I am you. I am part of you, and I am within you. Seek me within and with out, and you will be strong. Know me. Venture into the dark so that you may awaken to balance, illumination, and wholeness. Take my love with you everywhere and find the power within to be who you wish.

This is a little song/chant that I first heard in the documentary about Z. Budapest, "Gathering the Goddesses." It's really simple, but it's amazingly comforting to me and it helped get me through the stress of purchasing our home when everything was going wrong.
"_________ is well, __________ is well.
All manner of things shall be well!"
So, for instance, when I was worried about my financing for the house, I sang softly to myself:
"My home loan is well, my home loan is well.
All manner of things shall be well!"
Or, you can use it as a blessing is circle by inserting each participant's name in the blank and letting her sing it once, then the circle sings it back to her, as in:
"Alisha is well, Alisha is well.
All manner of things shall be well!"

Here is a chant that I changed a bit to more fit my path view.

earth, wind, sky and sea
you are inside and all around me

I thought this might be liked and wanted to share:
EARTH; DIVINE GODDESS, MOTHER NATURE, who generatest all things and bringest forth anew the Sun which thou hast given to the nations; guardian of sky and sea and of all gods and powers; through thy power all Nature falls silent and then sinks in sleep.
And again thou bringest back the light and chasest away night, and thou coverest us yet most securely with thy shades. Thou dost contain chaos infinite, yea and wind and showers and storms.
Thou sendest them out when thou wilt and causest the sea to roar; thou chasest away the Sun and arousest the storm.
Again, when thou wilt, thou sendest forth the joyous day ''and givest the nourishment of Life with thy eternal surety. And when the soul departs, to thee we return. thou art duly called the Great Mother of the Gods; thou conquerest by thy divine name.
Thou art the source of the strength of nations and of gods, without thee nothing can be brought to perfection or be born; thou art great, Queen of the Gods.
Goddess! I adore thee as divine; I call upon thy name; ''be pleased to grant that which we ask thee, so shall we give thanks to thee, Goddess, with due Faith...
An ancient hymn to the Earth Mother of uncertain date, but possibly Roman and a thousand years older than our oldest surviving source: an 11th century book of herbal charms and medicine.

I didn't pen this and I found it randomly the internet, so I don't have authors, either -- but here's one:
"Psalm"
The Earth is my mother, I shall not want.
She nurtures me in green pastures;
she freshens me with flowing waters.
She restores my body and awakens my soul.
Although I walk in the shadow
of changing seasons and passing time,
I will not fear death,
for the essence of life is within me,
the peace and beauty of Earth comfort me.
She teaches me to harvest her abundant gifts,
she fills my heart with compassion,
I drink from the cup of simple pleasures.
As I look to the skies with wonder
at the immensity of the universe,
I know I am blessed beyond measure
to live all the days of my life
in the bountiful house of the Goddess.

Here are two by me :)
Moonlight Huntress,
Sunlight Maiden,
Sun and Moon
The realms you rule.
---
The roar of the bear
As soft as the doe
As swift as the hare
The tall trees that grow
The arrows that mark
The [warm] light of the sun
And the moonlit dark
The wild that run
Freedom of the horse
The woman by the sea
Devoted to the force
She who is free
Artemis.

heres a simple repetative energy building chant I love..
"We all come from the Godess,
And to her we shall return!
Like a Drop of rain.
Flowing to the ocean!"
and another simpkle name chant that builds energy and Deity attention well
"Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate,
Demeter ,Kali, Inanna!"
Both are meant to be sang in repetion.. they can be fun in rounds as well if in a group

"Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate,
Demeter ,Kali, Inanna!"
Of all the chants I've heard and read, that's the only one that's really stuck in my mind.

Here's the intros i use when i cast a circle and summon the elements(In order):
It blows strong and it blows true,It Whispers Memories of gentle summer breezes,filled with innocent and happy laughter,I Welcome The first Element Air to our circle and ask that It bless us with its wise knowledge and gentle joy
It Burns Bright and Brilliantly,It brings warmth to us on a cold winter's day,It is pure and un-tainted,It is the Light that guides us through our journey back to the Goddess,I welcome the second Element Fire to our circle and ask that it bless us with its Purrity and Passion
It Washes us and fills us,It brings us relief on a hot Summer's day,It Quenches our thirst and soothes our aching bodies.I welcome the Third Element Water to our circle and ask that it Bless us with its Healing peace and soothing caress
It is where we were born from it is what we will one day return to,It nutures us and protects us throughout our life journey.It gives us the beautiful gardens we see in the spring and the inspiring colours we see in the fall,I welcome The fourth Element Earth to our circle and ask that it bless us With its Kindness and that When the time is right,It will help the Goddess welcome us home.
It Fills us and is all around us,It is the very essence of everything,It is what gives us our personality and our Emotions.It is what uplifts us when we feel down,It is what one day will be found by itself to make us whole agian.I welcome the fith and final Element Spirit to our circle and ask that it bless us with Its pure bliss and knowledge that we are all uniquely touched by the Goddess

The Charge of Eris
"I have come to tell you that you are free. Many ages ago, My consciousness left humanity, that they might develop themselves. I return to find this development approaching completion, but hindered by fear and by misunderstanding. You have built for yourselves psychic suits of armor, and clad in them, your vision is restricted, your movements are clumsy and painful, your skin is bruised, and your spirit is broiled in the sun. I am chaos. I am the substance from which your artists and scientists build rhythms. I am the spirit with which your children and clowns laugh in happy anarchy. I am chaos. I am alive, and I tell you that you are free."

I'm glad I found this thread. This has been bookmarked. :-)
To help me when I'm at a loss for words, I blog the times I'm not. This is one of them that I rely on lately.
Oh, Goddess of Love,
Be with me as I walk into new territory;
Be with me as I start another new journey;
Help me keep my eyes and heart on you;
Help me remember why I'm on this path;
Let me find and be the peace you offer.
This isn't easy;
This is sometimes lonely;
This weighs heavily on me;
But,
You are with me,
You give me strength.
This is the path in front of me.
Sweet Lady, guide us, show us the way.

Three I come with and three I leave for thee, for thee, for three…
“Luna, luna, luna, Diana;
Luna, luna, luna, Diana;
Bless me, bless me, bless me Diana;
Luna, luna, luna, Diana.”
“Eluna, Eluna, Dea Ma Eluna” (roughly: Moon, moon, goddess mother moon.)
“Hawk watch over you,
Sun shine well upon you,
Sands below guide you,
Earth below nurture you,
Sun's sword and moons bow, set you free.”
---Shannon’s Blessing---
One gifted by my kin; One gifted from the Lady; and One gifted by a friend in spirit. I pray they bring you as much peace as they have me.
May the Lady bless you always.
