the meaning/origin/reason for there names

there hasn't been one that i found on MW and i was thinking there should be... just a thought

Do you have the means or experience to teach such a class or are you looking for someone to teach it ?

If not, I know way too much about names ... maybe a little later in the year I could look at teaching it.

Can't you find out that sort of stuff online? There's about a million baby name sites devoted to name meanings. It's just a matter of entering your name into the search thingy and up it pops.

I mean, yeah, it's an interesting topic, just not very indepth, and one that I couldn't imagine justified having an entire class based upon.

IMnot-so-HO, of course. :D

Of course you can. But at the same time, if you were to delve into Languages and the like, it could become a very broad topic. Like for example, what they've done with this site.

ah...forgive me i was simple asking if anyone knew meanings of most names, i have no intention of teaching a class

i was just curious in the origin of my....ah....unique name
and i just wanted to find out what it means and what assoicates to it
(such as how it defines my personality and if affects me on any spirit/astral/divination level etc)

thank you for the website i'll use it....

Obier, do you mean your mundane name, or magical name?

there is an interesting book called " The Secret Universe of Names: The Dynamic Interplay of Names and Destiny" which classifies names based on their first sound and their vowel sounds. It the discusses the strengths and weaknesses normally associated with those names. It's incredibly interesting and frighteningly accurate.

I've seen that book, and flicking through it, it did look interesting.

I don't think you need a class on personal names... as others have said, there are a million baby name websites out there.

It's refreshing to have parents take some thought in naming children. Too often nowadays parents just think up some combination of vowels and constanants that is meaningless, or worse, means something they aren't aware of. I once did a reading for a woman who named her daughter "Debris."

actually it was my birth name i was interested in
i have no spirit name or magical name because it is the same as my
birth-name, but i'm not telling anyone on this board that name ~_^
i know what could happen if i do

tho i can tell you it is a similar nature to that of the main character from
xxxholic manga/comic "Kimihiro Watanuki"
when fully translated it is an actually meaningful, structured sentence
