Getting to know yourself meditation
With this one you will be communicating with your future self, visualize a 80 year old who looks like you, ask their advice about the direction your life is taking, listen to what they have to say and then thank them with a hug allowing them to leave with your love
write down what you learned

So todays is
The sea of hidden motivations,
before you begin be sure to prepare by stating or thinking what it is you are actually trying to figure out then Visualize yourself as a deep sea diver plunging into the sea and you see a ship wreck, swim in through the port hole and look about, you notice a brass key in the lock of a great wooden chest , go slowly to it turn it opening the chest, take a look at what’s inside then you will be able to see what impulses are driving you

Todays is
Following your star
Get comfortable and close your eyes then bring your left forefinger just above your eyes
take some deep breaths and focus on the warmth of your finger and visualize in that spot a bright star radiating energy, you may feel a warm tingly sensation focus on your star allow it to feel you with hope and purpose if you have questions ask.. the answer may come in word or images and maybe later

Todays is
Finding a gift
If you feel trapped by depression or some kind of entrapment take a trip into your physic under world it may be scary but if you are brave enough to go you will learn alot, visualize walking down a dark tunnel you notice a faceless figure looming in the shadow approach it, don’t be frightened , it then places a white rose bud in your hand and then it goes away , look at the rose really look at it, notice its beauty then look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel you are in, then as you emerge into the sunlight the rose blooms and you have now been given the wisdom and insight you need

*drum roll* Todays Meditation is
Conquering fears
stand in a room and visualize the source of the fear, then bring it to the attention of your body, pay attention to how it makes you feel , be one with those feelings without fighting them - when you feel more comfortable take a small step forward, then continue repeating this exercise until you are right there and eventually you will over come it
This may take more then one visualization/meditation session..dont rush it or over do it ...but dont give up on it either

Todays is crystal meditation
Crystals provide an ideal focus for meditation, follow your intuition when you pick your crystal, the stone with the qualities you need will draw you or you can match your situation with the profiles of the crystal
heres a few examples:
Amythest - healing
Adventurine - calms chaotic thoughts
Carnelian - increases energy and motivation
Clear Quartz - strength and protection
Rose Quartz - self acceptance
Sodalite - mental clarity and aids expression
Tigars eye - courage and confidence
Yellow Calcite - lifts depression brings inner strength and peace

You can either hold them..wear them or lie them on the third eye or other chakra areas..or gaze into them...to give you something to focus on if you so choose
Crystals expand your own energies and in doing so they intensify your intent or whatever you are trying to do
They are especilly helpful in healing meditations

heres a fun and different one that uses meditation and visualization, after all they both work hand in hand quite often..so try this one on for size
Love for a stranger
get a map or an atlas, choose a place at random from the index, find it in the map or a globe and imagine you are a high powered telesope in space, zoom in on the location and picture it in your mind....if there are people how do you think they look, visualize them and send them love and comfort
you can also use the internet for this excersize if you find it too difficult to visualize in your mind
you can also use this one to send energy to some of these places that are going through so much devastation and disaster
hey we all cant hop a bus and go somewhere to help out but at least we can send our energies on the spiritual level

todays is called take control
do this meditation to calm anxiety , when you feel you are running out of time. begin by saying "stop" and pausing from your activity, breathe in slowly and deeply as you exhale imagine that time is expanding repeat this with your next two breaths each time spending a little longer on your out breath you can now resume your task with a more focused mind
Astara Seague
June 12th, 2008, 10:16 AM
todays is
letting go of past pain so you can move forward
imagine that you are standing by a lake , from the shore choose a stone to represent an event or a person from your past that causes you to be uncomfortable
then throw that stone into the lake watching the ripples spreading in circles across the surface, then disappear
Then allow any emotion provoked by that memory ripple threw your body just like the ripples on the lake then subside to nothing,
you are now perfectly calm, by experiancing these feelings you can let them go and move forward

from judgement to forgiveness
when we judge ourselves we cut ourselves off from compassion {the energy of the heart} during your evening meditation acknowledge any self judgements you have made during the day then get rid of them by saying
I forgive myself for judging myself,
giving love to yourself in this way will enable you to reconnect

beyond time
begin by observing a stream of thoughts passing through your consciousness pay attention to the spaces between thoughts until all spaces expand
practice shifting your awareness between the thoughts and the spaces
as you do so feel the thoughts begin to slow
try doing this every day for 5 minutes in time you may experiance occasional moments of an absolute stillness beyond time

Potential
meditate upon the acorn, visualize how it sprouts and grows into a great tree over the course of many decades, imagine how the world around the tree will change during that time
now focus on the potential within yourself, imagine yourself growing into that potential self during the course of your life surronded by a changing world ..what might you see what might you learn and what might you know

taming wild horses
at times we may feel that our desires are completly out of control, to regain them visualize these desires as a group of wild horses pulling a chariot where you are the rider, when you are ready gently but firmly take the reins and tighten them, fell the horses slowing down responding as you take control, direct them which way to go and even to stop and start back up slowly...
see you can do it!:boing:

Appriciate yourself for you
meditate on a object you use everyday..think of its form, appriciate how it is uniquely shaped to do its task..
then think of yourself, think of your unique qualities and talents , what tasks are you best shaped for..it is in these areas you will find you are best able to express your love to yourself as well as others..note that in your life you almost take these for advantage... take some time to appriciate them

Replacing negitive
there are days when I feel very negitive..bored and sort of dark inside..and when those days happen I always take a cool cleansing shower visualizing the waters being rainbow colored as they pour over my head, sort of washing me clean ..
then I go lie down {or sit} somewhere quiet and visualize a large glowing ball of energy I postively charge it then I instruct it to enter my body and cleanse out any dark stuff left.. you can feel the energy as it fills you and burns out the negitvity ..
all I can say is it really does work and is amazing

this one I actually learned in Junior high in my Drama class..the teacher was trying to teach us relaxing teqniques for when we preform etc... this one worked really well for me and I still use it on those days I just cant relax..especilly good when you are trying to sleep and finding it rough
Its called the rag doll excersize
You lie down and visualize yourself as a ragdoll filled with sand and tied at each limb...and neck you are filled so full you are nearly bursting..incrediably uncomfortable then slowly one by one you loose the strings at your limbs allowing the sand to flow out slowly and eveningly until you are nothing but a limp rag then imagine a nice breeze picks you up and catchs you as you fly around where ever you please

...In a traditional meditation during Lughnasadh, participants are encouraged to visualize themselves on the back of a crow (an important member of the Celtic fetish family), flying over fields bright with sunlight.
People are singing as they rake the hay into mounds, and you are so close you can smell the fresh hay and hear the harvesters' song.
The Sun of Lugh is high in the sky, but His strength is waning. As you alight in a nearby oak tree, there is a sense of peace and security as you are wrapped in Macha's wings.
Rest. You are in Her arms, the wings of the Mother, and basking in the warmth of the Father's rays....

moonlight is a wonderful surprise..we all expect to see our shadows during the day .. take the time to relize it also shows on this special night
the peace..the protection, love and the awe you will feel is without words
if you are having trouble with this visualization you probaly have never done it in person.. try it sometime

Kuan Yin is known as the Great Celestial Bodhisattva of Compassion. Many believe that her purpose is to help people, and that by attuning to her, she will grace you with her compassion.
Quan Yin Meditation:
Find a comfortable position and close your eyes. Imagine that it is nighttime and that you are on top of a hill looking out over the ocean. The full moon has just risen and the moonlight shimmers on the water. You gaze at the moon for a long time; the moonlight is powerful but soft, and looking at it makes you feel calm and happy.
The moon now begins to get brighter and brighter, so bright you can barely look at it. Gradually, it becomes Quan Yin herself, her whole body surrounded by a glowing aureole. She stands on a lotus that floats on the waves. At the sight of you she smiles a beautiful smile. Imagine her radiance filling you, her strength, her peace and her compassion becoming a part of you.
Finally, it is time for her to leave, and she becomes smaller and smaller. At last the sea and sky vanish too, and you rest in contemplation of the beautiful, empty space that is left. Let yourself become space. When you are ready, come back into your body and slowly stretch. Open your eyes and look at the world about you in a different way .

Seeking knowledge but cant find exactly what you need?
go inside to your own personal liberary we all have them that is where we file things away to remember or to not deal with at the moment...
sit there for awhile and notice all the books around and titles the different shapes and sizes...see if one in particular is glowing or standing out in some way then pick it up and read it.. if there isnt one wait on your liberarian
we all have one of them too.. it can be anything from a person to a thing this one is very wise.. ask them your question and what books may be helpful
when you get it read and listen carefully

Well this one is rather unstructured..My hubby suggested I put it in since I do this every day...so a little background..
I find being a water element that water is very healing... comforting..peaceful..and always makes me feel better any time of the day or night that is one of the reasons why we bought a small hottub for the back yard because the one bathtub we have in the house is not always available for extended periods of time or on demand..
I am a big believer in daily "quiet time" or meditation..call it what you wish.. so every morning when I awake I take my coffee out onto the deck and quietly soak in the hottub for 1/2 hour alone...this is where I plan my day..ground and center myself for the day ..and enjoy the beauty of the out of doors...
he says he can always tell when I didnt have or take the time to do this he says my whole attitiude is different :weirdsmil
so I know we all dont have private hot tubs and we all may not enjoy water to the extent that I do but we can find a quiet spot outside where we can relax..listen to the sounds of nature experiance the feel of a new day
you would be surprised the differnce even 15 minutes makes....
you could also do this in your own tub the great thing about indoor tubs is that you can put essential oils or salts in with you...hot tubs filters dont really like those:uhhuhuh:

so heres one I use when I go to bed but am not real sleepy yet.. it borders on astral projection but they are both about the same..
at least that is what I have found
so I lie there ans invision myself floating along the astral plane.. I notice the colors the planets, stars, whatever else and kind of lazily just float by and if I decide to stop I do and explore.. there are many diminsions you can find and people..
you arent really thinking of anything in particular... your just kind of hanging there and waiting to see what will happen..
these types are my most adventerous explorations I have done...
give it a try..its not that hard:weirdsmil

Paths of your life meditation
Find a leaf with a stem really take time to look at it contemplate the delicate veins fanning out from the stem to the leaf... they provide an image for the many paths a life can take.
use this image to reflect on your own life... tracing your way back to the stem, notice how every choice you have made has played a part in bringing you to where you are now
this will help you accept that every experiance has taught you something new and moved you further along your journey

dealing with stress and anxiety..try this one
close your eyes and visualize your troubles as a swarm of bees buzzing around your head
now conjure up a hive in front of you and metally guide the bees one by one into the hive
as the last ones disappear from sight the buzzing stops and your anxieties have been shepherded away to a place where they can not bother you

This is another visit with a Goddess type meditation
She is Sibyl, the Pythia, the Prophetess
sits sits legs spread over a deep chasm in the earth a memory of a recent earthquake
the earth smells of sandalwood mixed with Kephi incense the finest offered
your body is relaxed as you breathe deeply the amber incense you are burning. there are others in this temple all waiting for when the Preistess looks into your eyes and says "show me your heart child"
It is now your turn the Preistess is focussed on you her eyes deeply penetrate your soul
with your right hand you take your heart with your whole life and feelings and hand it over to her warm capable hands
Feel her careful handling, as she receives your heart she kisses it, and all the hurt from your emotional body just melts away
now she is going to say something to you, wait and watch her face listen carefully, remember what is said
then she hands your heart back to you and you place it back into your body again
you kiss her hands in gratitude and move to the back of the temple allowing others to speak to her
you feel her unconditional love

Imagine you are walking barefoot down a warm sandy path, pink flowers are on either side of the path, a gentle breeze cools the back of your neck...breathe deeply and continue until you reach the edge of a cliff, a deep blue ocean spreads out below you, a large wave peaks and a beautiful spirit made of delicate seafoam embraces you and flies with you down into the sea...you are safe and warm in her arms...down you go under the water...past the sea floor and into another realm where color is bursting and plants are enormous and giant fruits dangle from waving trees...your sea spirit holds your hand and closes her eyes...she asks..."Who are you ?"You say, "I don't know," she says, 'You are a beautiful child of light, you are in a dreamworld where things don't always make sense, but hold onto the fact that You are truth." She squeezes your hand and in minutes you are back on the cliff watching her descend back into the wave. You walk back through the flowery path with a glowing sun in your heart.

very nice Windblown thank you for posting
heres another Goddess type Meditation
focus on healing
Compose a four to five word note of what type of healing is needed,
write it down the center of a paper and rollit in a scroll then close
your eyes
Chant the words you have written, as you do this visulize yourself in
a green valley in ine hand hold the scroll in the other a black
velvet pouch.
In front of you is a very steep hill soon a horse and rider appear
as they come down the hill towards you... you recongnize Epona..Goddess of healing
When she reachs you she takes the black pouch from your hand remain
chanting as she rides back up the hill
and you relize the pouch contains the illness you watch as she
continues her way until she is out of sight
stop chanting and open your eyes tie the scroll with a white ribbon
and put it somewhere safe until the sickness has passed

Bookstore meditation
true most people have a certain book in mind when they go to the store but then there are sometimes when you just want a book, and you want the right one so maybe give this meditation a try
dress in brown and if possible wear Amber as jewelry or the scent, if you dont have amber Eo's try sandlewood or patchouli, cypress, or cedarwood.
when there take a seat if possible if not just lean or stand and meditate upon the shelved books , take in their titles their colors and so forth, and listen to see if any "call" to you much like you would pick a stone or a crystal, if you still get nothing put your hands up with palms toward books and move hand along shelf, when you hit a warm spot stop, pick that book and chances are its the one you really need

If you have pictures of those you want to give thanks and honor to, that is helpful, or you can hold an image of them in your mind. Lighting a candle is also often helpful with focusing for meditation. If you wish to make an altar, you can also decorate it with herbs and plants sacred to Samhain - pumpkin, acorns, and sage are several. Pick a time that you will not be disturbed, and a quiet place to perform the meditation.
Light the candle, sit quietly and breathe deeply, breathing in four counts and out four counts. Feel yourself rooted to the earth. Silently give thanks to the earth energies, to the Gods/Goddesses, the directions - whatever you hold as sacred in your own spiritual tradition. Give thanks for the earth energies that protect you during this meditation and ask your own guardian spirits/animals/angels to be with you and let no harm come to you.
When you are ready, picture the first of those you wish to give thanks to, either by first gazing at their photo, or by holding their image in your mind. When you can see them clearly, give thanks for the lessons and gifts they gave you in life. You can either do this silently or out loud, whichever is more comfortable for you. It is also the time to ask for guidance or communication from someone who has passed. When you are done, sit quietly, try to still your mind, and see if any words or guidance come to you. When you feel complete, move on to the next person.
Remember that if you ask for a sign, it may not come during the meditation ritual; it could come at another time, and be as subtle as a special feather found on a walk. Just be aware and watch the world around you. Signs from those who have passed are often very subtle and will have meaning to only you.
When you have completed giving thanks to the people you wished to include in the ritual, sit quietly for a while, then give thanks again to the energies, protective spirits and deities that you called in the beginning, and release them back to the world. Give thanks for the protection you were given during the meditation ritual, and then blow out the candle.

Feeling up in the air..maybe you need to ground yourself
this is a meditation/visualization that may help,
Stand or sit like a tree or bush would
then close your eyes take a few deep breaths, visualize what type of
tree or bush you would look like and say to yourself
Like a tree I stand reaching for the light, gaining strength from
darkness out my roots,my body is twisted by the storms of life, yet in
my uniqueness I am beautiful
