Lately, as I mentioned in another thread, I've begun to feel a tad haunted. 3 friends (not bosom buddies but friends nonetheless) dead in 3 weeks - this is an unusual state of affairs for me. In spite of having grown up in a funeral home family, those who have been near me in both age and proximity tend to have full lives - verging on unnaturally long and healthy in general.

In this light, I have been doing a lot of communicating with Papa Legba, who already has an altar of his own in my house. Recently, I've begun offering music and dance to my lwa specifically as something new to give them.

Obviously, one of the first themes that comes to mind musically for me in terms of Legba is the theme of crossroads, and the things that can happen in them. I've been making a list of songs to download along those lines, and was wondering if any of you had suggestions to add to it?

Here is my list thus far::
Robert Johnson - "Cross Road Blues"

Eric Clapton/Cream - "Crossroads"

Bone Thugs n'Harmony - "The Crossroads"

Tom Waits - "Crossroads"

LL Cool J - "Crossroads"

Corey Hart - "Crossroad Caravan"

Offspring - "Crossroads"

Tracy Chapman - "Crossroads"

Mercyful Fate - "Crossroads"

Anything you all can think of to add to my list along this theme, I'm always willing to check out new music.

Also, has anyone had a chance to listen to the album, "Hot Foot Powder" (http://www.amazon.com/Powder-Peter-Green-Watson-Splinter/dp/B00004S2UU) compiled by Peter Green and others? (Covers of blues songs both famous and obscure.)

I'd love a copy of it - I've always had a taste for the blues, and their covers.

'Melissa', by The Allman Brothers.

this is a beautiful song written by Greg Almman about his brother Duane's untimely death, and contains the line "Crossroads, will you ever let him go?"

I can just see you loading up a play list full of that and just dancing for hours! Oh how much fun, and I'll bet Legba will love it!
